We thought we would visit Wellies after the new refurb. I must say that We were very impressed with what we found. The food as always was fantastic. The decor is very warm and friendly with a rustic feel and very charming. The venison burger was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The new Caroline's I've creams... More

Wellies has not long re-opened after an extensive refurbishment and I when my friend and I called in for a breakfast we could not believe the transformation it has had more than a lick of paint. I have to commend the owners Martin and Charlotte for a great job well done ! The restaurant looks up to date and in... More

As 2 of the 18 walkers, we cannot fault the service we received. It was difficult to choose from the Incredibly wide menu which included classic mains, specials and snacks, all at reasonable prices. Our food was excellent, portions good with extra vegetables provided. Everything looked good on our colleagues' plates too. Whole restaurant was full (probably good idea to... More

This establishment has only recently re-opened, I believe. We somewhat swamped them with a walking group of 18 dinners. Service was quite slow but made up by excellent supply of good food. The staff were very dedicated to providing us with a good experience and I will certainly consider going there again when in the area. I wish the staff... More

Rural, quirky, lovely owners, Martin & Charlotte who produce very good food. Sunny, flower filled deck in the sun. We love it.

I have visited Wellies several times and yet to find a flaw , Iv been with friends , family and with children , the staff are very friendly , approachable and welcoming. This was my second visit to Wellies having previously enjoyed a full English breakfast which was the best I've had by the way. This visit my wife and I chose the roast as it was Sunday and we were not disappointed with the freshness, quality and provenance of the food. The service was great too nothing seemed to be too much... More

Lunch today, specials were bang on I had cod fillet and leek parcel wrapped with bacon with a melted cheddar topping, carrots broccoli, red cabbage and french beans,a glass of elderflower presse, large filter coffee to finish. This is great cooking, nicely presented by unpretentious staff in a nice rural setting.Great value. It is a working restaurant, not a romantic location, and probably not really child orientated.But...
