An excellent restaurant set in the Sussex countryside.

Set in the heart of the Sussex countryside Wellies is fittingly enough developed from an old barn. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and people looking for a good meal out in excellent surroundings. Had a group of 7 of us. The restaurant has a nice selection of food - although disappointingly one of the starters they couldn't provide all of the servings and with and the main course the same issue arose. Service was attentive and food was good with portions being a good size. Upstairs works well for a larger party. This... More

Bit off the beaten track. Consistently good food. My only gripe is the pies are not pies but meat with a piece of puff pastry on top. That's the sort of thing you get in cheaper restaurants. Other than that I can't really fault the food.

I have been to Wellies several times for lunch and each time have been met by friendly waiting staff and a warm welcome. The food is excellent quality, local whenever possible, and the dishes I have tried are inventive and delicious. Gluten-free customers have a good choice from the menu; the atmosphere is calm and relaxed, even when the restaurant... More

This tucked away restaurant is ideal for an informal meeting with friends. It's part of a working stables and is set in the countryside just outside of Chichester. The meals are freshly prepared and very well cooked. The staff is very friendly with no pressure to vacate your table once the meal is over. Overall, an enjoyable eating experience in... More

We love Wellies! :D My partner and I went to Wellies the first time in December to celebrate a family event. Charlotte made us feel welcomed from the first moment we got there. The whole restaurant was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and had a very "homely" feeling. :D The service was brilliant and we had a very nice evening,... More
