Excellent

i went to Wellies today for lunch. I was amazed at the lovely meal I had. The fish cakes are to die for. Presentation was great. Water was bought to the table as soon as we sat down. Which was a lovely touch. Staff were very attentive too. I really wanted to try the lemon meringue pie,but had no... read more

Went here for lunch organised by a friend as had been several times before and previously had a enjoyable meal. On arrival shown to table given menus. Not until our orders were being taken were we informed that they could not serve alcohol due to the new owner not having a licence. As a party of 6 out on a... More

I was lucky enough to be taken to Wellies for a cream tea in March and was so very impressed that when it was my daughters birthday , I booked the same for myself and 4 daughters. Unfortunately the second experience was woefully lacking in anything except mediocrity!! I can't tell you how disappointed I was in both quality and... More

Huge surprise when Martin and Charlotte were not there when we popped in. We were informed that there was no chef on Mondays so ordered a chicken and bacon baguette. Water brought at the end of service, baguette generously filled but so dry. Salad had no dressing ... Very amateurish sadly.

Has in the past been one of our favourite places for Breakfast Clearly getting into the swing of things - service was slow the waitress commented on the fact that my son had ordered coke with breakfast !! but the young girls were charming & went out of their way to be helpful not sure what the lunch menu will... Wellies was recommended by a friend and having also read the great reviews on trip advisor we thought we'd give it a try. The menus on the website looked very tempting and we arrived expecting to order the roast. A warm welcome greeted us and the place looked nice but upon being seated and looking at the menu it appeared... More

Set in the heart of the Sussex countryside Wellies is fittingly enough developed from an old barn. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and people looking for a good meal out in excellent surroundings. We had Farmer's Game Pie - very rich and tasty sauce. Light puff pastry and seasonal vegetables - broccoli spring green and baby carrots. I opted for roast... More

Had a group of 7 of us. The restaurant has a nice selection of food - although disappointingly one of the starters they couldn't provide all of the servings and with and the main course the same issue arose. Service was attentive and food was good with portions being a good size. Upstairs works well for a larger party. This... More

Bit off the beaten track. Consistently good food. My only gripe is the pies are not pies but meat with a piece of puff pastry on top. That's the sort of thing you get in cheaper restaurants. Other than that I can't really fault the food.
