Pehaps the setting deserves more....

Had a sandwich lunch and a pot of tea. Decent. Nothing special and perhaps a little expensive?? Convenient location and an interesting interior.

We tried this for breakfast after wife & daughters had been there for afternoon tea. Good breakfast choice on menu, & immense 'full English', freshly cooked with local ingredients. Lovely smiley service, & atmospheric surroundings, beautiful ecclesiastical architecture.

Set in a beautiful building once the crypt of the cathedral, this cafe is in a superb location if you're in Chichester for shopping. The food is always very good and they cater very well for us vegetarians. We come here a lot and are happy to recommend.

Went at lunchtime just for a "cup of tea and a bun". Service excellent even though it was a busy weekday; drinks arrived quickly as did my toasted tea cake and my wife's scone. Staff friendly and helpful. "Monster Mash" of a place! Cost £9 including Earl Grey and a Mocha.

We popped in here whilst out and about in Chichester, and decided to have tea & a scone. The service was fantastic, they were all friendly and professional. The scone was warm with a little dish of jam & clotted cream. Tea for 2 was plenty. Very tasty, fresh and enjoyable in a fantastic surrounding. A perfect little treat.

There are three Butteries situated in Lymington, Brockenhurst and Chichester. This one is actually in a 12th century crypt. Absolutely lovely. So unusual - the food was well cooked and presented. We had a baby breakfast for £4:50. The sausages were really yummy, and the coffee was good. We put that down to the French lady. They know their coffee... More

My husband and I had a very nice lunch after a long wait for our order to be taken. Very little eye contact from the French lady who I now understand to be the Manager. After lunch I went to the Ladies. It's unimpressive but ok. The toilet was engaged and the person came out and proceeded to the restaurant... More

Interesting setting in vaulted cellar close to the cathedral. Typical cafe food with good choice and no frills. Staff were friendly and very efficient which is impressive given how busy it was. Good value compared with other fancier places in the same street. Will keep it in mind for future shopping trips when a refuel is required.
