We stopped here after our first choice sent us away. Very nice breakfast although the beans could have been warmer! Very pleasant waiter, good service
The setting is great - the Crypt. A little different now to how it looked some years ago but still provides a great place for that coffee and cake. Not the cheapest in Chichester but still reasonable value for money and a great place to take newcomers to the Chichester scene.
A step back in time to the traditional tea room. Friendly service, an ideal place for an old fashioned cup of tea without all the modern coffee shop hype.
We visited The Buttery on Friday 6th Dec. Service was prompt & the good was good. Lovely place. Lovely staff. Would definitely go back. Thank you to the staff for making us do welcome 😍
We had had a dreadful experience in a cafe in Midhurst the day before, and this was such a refreshing antedote. The place was really busy when we arrived, but we were made to feel welcome and an imminent table was swiftly found. Unlike some other posters, the service was fast and friendly. We had lovely wholesome food, all very... More
The setting for this cafe is delightful, being close to town and cathedral. It was a shame therefore that the experience did not match the promise! Most disappointing was the fact that the service was painfully slow. For us this did not matter too much, as my wife and I were glad to have an extended rest from our long... More
Plain fare, cooked and presented with little imagination. On the day we visited there seemed to be a lack of staff, considering the central position in Chichester, there is little reason to go there rather than to another restaurant/cafe nearby.
All very good...didn't visit the loo but husband & child had no complaints. Tea was very nicely brewed and it's good to see that many cafés now are stocking green tea. Cakes looked good although I went for a fruit scone as I'll only resist temptation with cakes if it's the mighty Victoria sponge, which wasn't present. Overall, no problems... More
Popped into this cafe this morning for brunch with my family and was overpowered by the smell of rank fish. Husband really wanted to eat so stayed. Wish I hadn't ! The lad that served us was lovely though so I've scored accordingly to reflect his good manners, friendliness and general pleasant demeanor. The rest however was terrible. I had... More
In response to your review, I appoligise if your cheese toastie was disappointing,we would have willingly prepared you another one, the smell of rank fish as you put it was in fact fresh fish cooked for a fish pie that was only put on the menu that day, As I had visited that day for a few hours I can... We popped in here whilst browsing the shops in Chichester. As the café is in the crypt, it is quiet and cool, away from the hustle and bustle of the shops, so a good relaxing stop. We only had a cup of tea but the young man who served us was polite, attentive and friendly, which is just what we... More
