On arrival this place seemed like a nice quaint place to stop for a refreshment. We chose to sit inside and observed the staff very busy cleaning, sorting out an order and chatting to one another. It was very quiet with only a few customers sitting outside. The coffee we ordered was okay but definately not worth the £4.20 paid... More

Went in for a traditional breakfast during a shopping trip, we were early so the place was not busy (only three tables occupied). The baked beans, & tomato were only slightly warm, the sausage looked anaemic but the egg was so overcooked it was like rubber and the bacon was so dry it was inedible. At no point did the... More

This place has so much potential, but the food options on offer is fairly dated and the place feels like it hasn't moved on since I was nine! This in itself is quite a novelty, hence why we went in, but actually it felt as though the crockery had been collected from a residential home, the food was served with... More

Took ages to take our order, I wondered at one point whether I was invisable. It wasn't even busy. After exceptionally long wait the food was disappointing. Frozen dinner for one. Stale bread for a£6.00 sandwich (without chips). Waitress completely forgot to bring one of the hot drinks. Terrible atmosphere. Such a shame, always looked nice but is not the... More

My wife and I travelled down from London expecting nice fresh fish and chips. After asking the wiator questions to which he knew no answers, such as is the fish fresh, portion size etc the owner informed me you couldn't buy fresh fish? Huh? The restautant is silent, no music all you can hear is the microwave. Avoid for anything... More

Have a very nice lunch here. Menu had a good selection of sandwiches, cakes, jacket potatoes and specials. Food was served promptly and was very nice. Would happily revisit.

Served up Toast, which was barely fitting of the title, being both Pale & Floppy!! Crumpets Toasted please, was our request, Insipid barely any colour, & droopy, were served! The Butterpats were extremely tasty. A... More

We realised we had not had a cream tea, so decided on our last day to have this special treat. We’re going to Crumbs and Creams unfortunately they had run out of scones so they directed us to The Buttery At The Crypt. The cream tea was okay, placing our order and service was really slow even though not that... More

Has been up dated since our last visit, and not before time. New menus and décor and waiters/waitresses who are more professional than the previously employed students. Ideal for a shoppers lunch, morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Food was ok and not bad portion size, it was really quick and efficient. It was all a bit basic, but ok for a stop off. Waitress was polite, smiley and friendly. Tables were a bit sticky, but were wiped promptly when we asked. I guess it was functional, just not outstanding. Loads of people were having cream tea which... More
