Sunday lunch with family

Took the family to the Walnut Tree for family birthday Sundays lunch, five adults and one child. Had a great meal, a very good menu. Also a good choice for grandson. Lots of parking spaces. We have also been to the Walnut Tree for a evening meal with friends.

Very large menu, food cannot be cooked to order as ours arrived within ten minutes I had seafood medley which was ok but had been reheated by ping My husband had the hand battered cod sorry but hand battered cod does not come in a triangle shape which looked more like breadcrumbs it was that flat not fluffy batter you... Great food and a good selection, staff could be a bit more on the ball. Garden is great and relaxing plenty of room.

I'm usually pretty cautious about neighborhood pubs, because the quality of the food can range from very good to downright horrible. We tried this one out on our recent trip to the Goodwood Festival of Speed based on a recommendation, and we were very impressed! The menu was quite extensive... we tried a number of different items and all of... More

We visit Goodwood for the Festival Of Speed every year. This is the hidden gem just a mile down the road but it seems to be an open secret that it's the best place to eat locally as it's always so busy. We visited a couple of times during the festival and we rounded things off with another lunch there... More

I had the misfortune of eating here today. The blackboard showed a number of reasonable priced specials at £9.99 per main course, but no vegetarian option. I was told that the only option for me as a vegetarian was two (mediocre) mini quiches (or a cheese tart), served with side salad and four small new potatoes, for £13.95,which is the... More

What a fantastic place. We arrived at lunchtime to a very busy pub and where greeted by the owner. A bit weird ordering from a blackboard as there are no menus on the table. It felt very backwards. But the food was served quickly and the service was second to none. And the food itself. My steak was cooked to... More

We booked an early table for dinner at short notice. Friendly welcome, menu explained and we ordered at the bar. Taken to our table, drinks order came promptly as did our dinner. We ordered fish and chips and a blue fillet steak. Both were excellent. I have rarely enjoyed a steak as much. Service was attentive. A lovely evening. We... More

Used to go here often but not anymore, no table on arrival you have to choose your food off the menu board before you are taken to a table, three in our party and one of us had to wait for veg after been given the main and if it hadn't been eaten straight away it would have been cold,... More

The pub look nice which is one of the reasons why we decided to PPP in while in the area on holiday. When you want to sit down, they make you order food first before they offer you a table which makes life difficult when you have kids. When we had eventually decided on the food we wanted (which was... More
