My late husband and I ate there most Friday nights for some time. Since his death I have not been and my visit last week-end was the first in quite a while. It had had a refurb, very tasteful and a new manager. It was crowded but the manager showed us to our table, offered to serve drinks and when... More

Visited for a wake. Prompt service at the bar even though the barmaid was having a 'mare. Reasonable prices and decent atmosphere. Nice beer garden too.

The pub/restaurant had a large dining area with a second area close to the bar where they allow dogs which was a big plus for us. The food was lovely, however, rather posh and a little on the expensive side.

It's the first time we've been for dinner as the Walnut Tree is usually a favourite for lunch. We like the table for 4 that we'd booked in the bay window, but please could the chairs be checked as the springing had completely gone in my old oak dining chair? The decor is very quaint, but one needs to be... More

Went for Birthday get together mid week. Easy parking, good restaurant lay out. We had a Mix of ages & food tastes but they were well catered for. Portion sizes & presentation was great. Lamb shank and fillet steak medallions in a peppery sauce were big favourites. The veg was lovely & fresh. House red was a yummy Malbec. It... More

Four of us turned up for lunch here on spec and were very pleased with the experience. Food was well cooked with lots of variety on the menu. We liked the unusual décor and ambiance. Service was very good and friendly despite there being lots of diners. Not many pubs where you don't have to get your own drinks once... More

Good varied menu, food was great and staff polite and helpful. Would recommend booking at busy times, but plenty of tables available in the garden.

Went for Sunday lunch while on holiday. There are no printed menus, just a big blackboard with loads of choices. This meant a crowd of people round it at once - we gave up and just ordered the Sunday roast. This (roast beef) was delicious - good quality meat and plenty of it, 'proper' Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. The... More
