great food and drink as usual

Been a while since our last visit. Last time they had this strange idea that people would pay more for beef than the other meats. At least that idea has been binned. The peas had been under the heat lamps too long but everything else was great. Lovely pint of Doom Bar too.

I'm moving away so will not get to have another wonderful carvery. Sunday had a choice of 4 roasts plus all the veg you can stack on your plate. Arrived just after 12 and timed it just right as it got very busy.

then this place is heavenly. it is split into 2 sections with the bar on one side and restaurant on the other. Food is beautifully prepared and you serve your own veg so can pack as much as you like

2 of us visited for breakfast on a weekday morning. The all you can eat breakfast was lovely, hot & a good variety. The bacon & sausages were good quality & we were asked how many eggs we wanted so they could be freshly cooked for us. We both asked for tea & were given a very large pot which... More

We were disappointed that we had to wait about 15 mins for eggs and the tea pot we were given had not been cleaned properly so bits of old tea were floating around. The waitress was lovely and clearly rushed off of her feet. Its seems they need more staff to make the experience better and possible avoid problems like... More

Couldn't ask for any more, the carvery is what you would expect for the cost. If they increased the cost, I'm sure the food would get better but you would hardly go here for a 5* meal. The staff are friendly and local so some recognised faces in there too. Can't ask for anymore for the price..

What an awful experience!! You sit down to eat a breakfast. Eventually after 10 minutes. Someone asks for your order. You ask for the meal deal which includes a small orange juice. So you then get asked what size orange juice. So you have to repeat that you want the meal deal!!!! After then waiting for around 10 minutes for... More

All you can eat breakfast sounded good but very disappointing. The bacon was cremated, toaster was broken so had to have bread which was stale, however, replaced when complained. Food was only just warm. Requested scrambled egg but was told the trainee cooks them and he does not know he to scramble eggs! Paid 79p extra for a portion of... More

The carvery is such good value and drinks are reasonably priced too. Lovely bar and family friendly. I have been many times with friends and couldn't fault it.
