We visited here as a surprise for my husband's birthday and it didn't disappoint. With my husband being a chef and myself being in the hospitality industry, we often find it quite hard to find a restaurant with excellent service, excellent food and a really good atmosphere. Purnell's has all of the above and we will be back. Thank you

This was a revelation in the culinary arts. Having seen Glynn Purnell appear n the Great British Menu and a variety of other cooking programmes his humour and skill had intrigued enough to obtain a reservation. The restauraunt is light and airy and the staff all pleasant and attentive. There are 2 menu choices available in the evening, both tasting... More

Visited this restaurant recently as I heard that it's a really good place to eat. The food was average nothing amazing apart from the mock tail drink. So nothing to brag about even though it's a mitchelin restaurant didn't really have the Wow Factor.

This is a restaurant to savour. Although very expensive the experience is worth it. Staff are very attentive without being a nuisance. Each course is described when brought to table. I would recommend this for a very special occasion not your average restaurant. There are only 2 menus to choose from and all your party have to pick the same... More

We went for the more expensive taster menu and wine flight but it was worth it. Every course was perfect and unique. The service was excellent, everything was done to ensure our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. There was even a power cut where all the lights went out which didn't ruin the meal, straight away lamps were brought out... More

My trip to Purnells for the first time started as a last minute decision with a group of friends, we were out for drinks and decided that we needed a dining experience and I called on the off chance and managed to secure a table. I had wanted to go to Purnells for a long time but just hadn't managed... More

Went to Purnells last night for a wedding anniversary meal. From start to finish the welcome and service was excellent. Unobtrusive yet never missed anything. Crumbs wiped off the table, wine and water topped up. The serving staff were really friendly as well. We bought the book and had a personalised message put in from Chef. At the end Chef... More

Rude waiting staff, cold, uninviting restaurant and we were placed on a table in the walk way between the kitchen and the main restaurant. Food ok, wine amazing. An 'experience' but wouldn't go there again out of choice.
