We ate here for my birthday last month, had the 7 course taster and was not disappointed! We'd booked months in advance, but it was worth the wait. Expect to be surprised, delighted and wowed with each course. I can honestly say it was the best meal I'd ever had! Only thing for me was we had about 7 different... More

Treated the girlfriend to a night at purnells as she has always liked what Glynn does on the tv shows he appears on. We had the now tasting menu and everything I ate I had never had before, which is the whole idea of a tasting menu. There were some dishes I liked and others I didn't. My only little... More

quite nice, but bit pretentious. wine overly expensive. food nice very well presented, but small portions - case of style over substance

...as opposed to 2 star. We've eaten at both and quite honestly this restaurant is right up there with the 2 star restaurants at which we have eaten (Sat Bains and Midsummer House). The 'Now' menu is a cleverly crafted tour of the senses with 10 separate sensory experiences. One 'stand-out' for me was the 'flour' on which the radishes... More

We'd been here three or four years ago and were delighted to return. Two tasting menus are offered and we went for "Reminisce". Imaginative and wide-ranging food with interesting touches with every course. From the cheese and pineapple first course, through a stunning Monkfish Masala to two great puddings (one called "Chocolate cube of destiny"!) it was a great evening.

The staff were amazing, attentive, but not over bearing like in other high end restaurants we have visited. The food was very good, there were some tasty twists on some British classics. We thought the pineapple cheese course and the cappachio of beef course stood out. All in all it was a truly lovely evening and we will certainly be... More

Excellent food and service. Will definitely be returning in the future. We had the summer menu and would highly recommend - it was very enjoyable and the wines chosen for us were lovely.

We went for the Brummie Tapas which meant we were sat in 'the living room' which is the equivalent of a chefs table. I loved every course, getting to meet the kitchen team and the main man himself popping over to say hi and make sure we were being looked after. I thought Purnells had a really friendly feel to... A surprise treat for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food and professional service made the night a real treat. Would recommend any one to visit and experience the creativeness of the dishes.
