Itihaas is a stunning restaurant where contemporary meets traditional. No expense has been spared in achieving this, and as you step into this two million pounds restaurant, you will certainly see just that. The decor is clean and crisp with plate glass and slate finished walls. This smart and sophisticated interior is complimented by the 18th and 19th century Indian artefacts, including original paintings, carved stone elephants and 300 year old doors. Downstairs, the Maharaja Suite which also seats 80 is luxurious with opulent mood lighting and decorated with more Indian treasures. To complete the real ambience, behind 300 year old Indian wooden doors is the Tiffin Room which seats 12, complete with a bar, library and your very own dedicated butler!Cuisine in this fine establishment is created by award winning chefs and staff who come from Indian Five-Star Hotel backgrounds. They have a single aim - to be able to deliver the authentic Royal Indian dining experience to its patrons with utmost courtesy and hospitality. The menu will take you on a culinary journey through the North of India with a couple of stops through Kenya and vibrant Mumbai. At this royal eatery, indulgence is paramount.

Classy Restaurant

Amazing food and very filling as everything has large portion sizes. A very nice classy location. The food is expensive, but highly worth it. The only negative was that we had to wait a very long time for both orders of our drinks, and we think they may have possibly forgotten them, and then once... read more

Great Indian Food, and HUGE portions! All of it was excellent, but the Tarka Dhaal was truly the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Initially the service was a bit slow with drinks, and we were sitting near the bar - after my husband's chair was knocked three times by staff we complained and were seated at the farthest... More

Been to many restaurants but should say the food and service is very nice. Should recommend Lobster panchphoran and Lamb shank masala in mains and for desert Apple jelebi with malhi kulfi . Will definitely recommend.

Visited here last night for the first time and was blown away by the standard of food, which was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Will definitely return. I recommend saving room for dessert!

My family and I ate here recently for my birthday. It's been a while since I last came here. We had booked a table and we were seated right at the entrance, they were 2 big round tables that were joined together or attempted to be joined. We looked completely ridiculous as we were all so far apart from one... More

Extremely delicious food - good quality, lovely atmosphere. Portions are quite small but the food is delicious.

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the last few years. It is still better than your average curry house, however its standards have slipped greatly since my first visit 7 years ago. The service standard has dropped from exceptional to very average. It took a long time for our order to be taken & for drinks... More

On arrival we were taken downstairs to the basement which was horrible, empty, no atmosphere . We asked to be moved upstairs and this was dealt with very pleasantly. Waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. In the meantime a young waiter bought our bottle of wine, stood at the head of the table and asked us to... More
