Description: Itihaas is a stunning restaurant where contemporary meets traditional. No expense has been spared in achieving this, and as you step into this two million pounds restaurant, you will certainly see just that. The decor is clean and crisp with plate glass and slate finished walls. This smart and sophisticated interior is complimented by the 18th and 19th century Indian artefacts, including original paintings, carved stone elephants and 300 year old doors. Downstairs, the Maharaja Suite which also seats 80 is luxurious with opulent mood lighting and decorated with more Indian treasures. To complete the real ambience, behind 300 year old Indian wooden doors is the Tiffin Room which seats 12, complete with a bar, library and your very own dedicated butler!Cuisine in this fine establishment is created by award winning chefs and staff who come from Indian Five-Star Hotel backgrounds. They have a single aim - to be able to deliver the authentic Royal Indian dining experience to its patrons with utmost courtesy and hospitality. The menu will take you on a culinary journey through the North of India with a couple of stops through Kenya and vibrant Mumbai. At this royal eatery, indulgence is paramount.

Didn't even know this was here! Happened to come across this when shopping in Selfridges. The manager was polite and informed us on the menu without being pushy told us today's offer which were incredible value... So glad we stopped food was to die for and me and my boyfriend eat ALOT of curry. Great food with the great atmosphere... More

This is the third time I have visited the restaurant. I can honestly say the food is very good, not the best I've had but the starters are some of the best. The king prawns and the lamb chops are to die for. I can't help but think that this place would get more visitors if it updated the tired... More

Having heard so much about this restaurant two friends and myself made the sixty mile journey from our homes in Cheshire to check out the Birmingham restaurant for ourselves. All three of us are dedicated, enthusiastic, connoisseurs of Indian cuisine and have eaten in numerous restaurants around the country, and I having lived in India for a few years think... More

The last 3 times I have been in Birmingham I have gone to Pushkar. I wanted to try somewhere else and ended up here on a recommendation from hotel. Wed night and the place was packed so high expectations. Malai Tikka starter was great if pricey but the Lamb Rogan Josh was shocking - the meat was very tough. This... More

After a shopping spree we decided to have a quick bite. Being a big fan of Indian food..it had to be otihaas even though the other half wanted yo sushi. The decor for me isnt the best but we were very pleased with our food. Naturally being where they are the prices are quite high, thats my only criticism. The... More

Opportunist visit by 3 of us around 8.00 pm after an earlier larger gathering for drinks. Mid December so smack in the middle of Xmas party season and when we walked in there was a group of c. 25 waiting for their (pre-booked) tables and we were followed in by a spec party of 5. After a little difficulty in... More

We chose Itihaas for our office Xmas lunch as we fancied something different. It was a good choice. We had booked for 8 but the staff weren't at all put out when we informed them that we'd an extra guest joining us. I can't remember what everybody had, although it all looked delicious and there were no complaints. I has... More

Top class restaurant with some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted. However, you will not find your traditional Indian dishes here. My friend didn´t look at the menu and ordered what he thought was a staple of any Indian restaurant in Chicken Tikka Masala, pilau rice and a keema naan. None of those things were on the... More
