Description: Itihaas is a stunning restaurant where contemporary meets traditional. No expense has been spared in achieving this, and as you step into this two million pounds restaurant, you will certainly see just that. The decor is clean and crisp with plate glass and slate finished walls. This smart and sophisticated interior is complimented by the 18th and 19th century Indian artefacts, including original paintings, carved stone elephants and 300 year old doors. Downstairs, the Maharaja Suite which also seats 80 is luxurious with opulent mood lighting and decorated with more Indian treasures. To complete the real ambience, behind 300 year old Indian wooden doors is the Tiffin Room which seats 12, complete with a bar, library and your very own dedicated butler!Cuisine in this fine establishment is created by award winning chefs and staff who come from Indian Five-Star Hotel backgrounds. They have a single aim - to be able to deliver the authentic Royal Indian dining experience to its patrons with utmost courtesy and hospitality. The menu will take you on a culinary journey through the North of India with a couple of stops through Kenya and vibrant Mumbai. At this royal eatery, indulgence is paramount.

We went for a meal with close friends of ours and, wanting somewhere nice given the time of year, chose this restaurant because of the excellent reports on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations as three of the four main courses that we had between us were inedible. There was very little flavour in any of the curries,... More

Poor service, overpriced worst curry I have ever tasted. The chef took my order. Dishes we did order never arrived. Very expensive and foul tasting. Don't bother.

Atmosphere is beautiful as well and would recommend everyone to visit Itihaas who wants to have a great evening and food whose taste will not be forgotten for... More

I visited Itihaas again this time with my wife for an early evening meal and was slightly disappointed after enjoying the business lunch meal before and also a few times at their Selfridges branch. The food we ate Ajwani Paneer (£10.95), Salmon and cheese samosa (£7.95), Goan prawn curry (£15.95), Lamb rogan josh (£14.95), Boiled rice(£3.50) were all excellent but... More

This place is a Top end Indian restaurant, it feels right and serves well. The food is well cooked (as expected) and nicely presented. It has a fully stocked bar which only adds to the pleasure. There is plenty of street parking although not always in the close vicinity. If you want a great evening and outstanding food then is... More

This is a beautiful, stylish Indian restaurant, in the City of Birmingham. It has a lovely ambiance and the staff are polite, friendly and knowledgable. There is a marvellous choice of dishes and the ones we tried were delicious and beautifully presented.
