Visited this restaurant on the off chance as we wanted to have a meal in the Balti Triangle on NYE. We were very pleased with both the meal and the service. They advised us on various choices and we opted for a vegetarian meal to share. We also had a lasses drink.

It's always a pleasure to go to the Dawat. The atmosphere is warm and the restaurant itself is really nicely decorated. Food is epic as are the staff! A real must if you want great curry. My recommendation is the Tawa Lamb. Great value for money too!

This was my second visit to Dawat. My first visit was exactly two years ago, which was a Christmas treat to myself. Similarly this meal was another Christmas treat. The restaurant was just the same as I remembered, I was even shown to the exact same table as before. I probably ordered the same meal too. I ordered Chicken Tikka... More

Love the food here, always excellent quality and big portions. Can't beat the sheekh kebabs and chicken wings, our favourite starters. Polite and pleasant staff. Particularly liked the recent addition of the mango dip with our popadoms. We eat here regularly and no where else compares. Definitely recommend

We came here because we fancied an Indian restaurant in the balti triangle. This partsr one had good reviews as well as a 50% offer which was perfect. The restaurant delivers a take away menu too an the food tasted like a very good Indian takeaway. It was a big place with a quiet atmosphere on a Tuesday evening. The... More

Been here several times over the last 20 years or so and went again as hadn't been for a few years. Food is OK but this time portion sizes for mains were very small - what I would expect starter sizes to be. Would have forgiven but pricing is about average for this type of place. There are dozens of... More

Read the Birmingham Mail online and learn that Saleems is closing due to lack of clients, shame being one of the first to open,i like The Dawat, good service, polite staff and very good food, reading previous reviews that the portions are small, well i think it is just right, if you want to overdose on food go to the... Nice restaurant, pleasant atmosphere. Couple of things I was disappointed with - the staff were a little off hand and not very speedy with service. The curry was LOVELY but very small portions! The desserts didn't live up to the photos on the menu! Very chemically. Wouldn't rush back because I've been to better, but I've also been to much... More
