Came here having had a lot of Polish food cooked by my girlfriends family. The food here was a very good standard and a very nice traditional feel. The portion sizes were huge and the food was very tasty with authentic drinks on the menu also. Will definitely be going back- highly recommend.

Amazingly hearty fare - the roast pork knuckle falls off the bone and is almost a meal in itself - but not perhaps the place to take your whey-faced veggie friends. For normal diners, however, we can report the steak tartare, beef stew and aforementioned knuckle all to be excellent. Rather an unprepossessing location (the basement of a Polish hostel... More

After a trip to the Think Tank we found this little beauty ! It was a real delight as it is totally different from the sorts of places we usually go to. The service was very good and the food was delightful. We will definitely be going back again very soon.

We came to the Karczma before a gig on a Wednesday evening, the host was friendly and the service speedy. I had the rye soup with smoked sausage, it was good value, delicious and very filling. The music in here is great and the sheepskin throws and straw ceiling make it feel homely and comforting. If you are in need... More

We had been meaning to visit this Polish restaurant for a while now, and eventually we managed to get go for an evening meal. It's just a few minutes walk from the bullring, so not to far. The restaurant is located down a side street which is pretty dark, but you can park closer with its on street parking which... More

What a lovely little restaurant, tucked on the back streets of Birmingham where you wouldn't expect to find a restaurant. From the outside it looks like a plain white building, but inside is a quaint little Polish restaurant, with friendly staff and enormous portions. Definitely recommend.

My experience with polish restaurants abroad is quite varied, verging on 'not so good'. In this case I can honestly say that I would take my friends there to show them what typical polish cuisine is. It has very good food and really nice staff. The only drawback is the fact that broth is sold only on Sundays - which... More

I attended a wedding last weekend and the food for the occasion was prepared by Karczma Restaurant. I was looking forward to it as I have read Jay Rayner's review of the place and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The choice was huge and everything from the traditional soup starter ('Zurek') served in beautiful bread bowl to main courses ( selection... More
