Found this restaurant after it was recommended in the Waitrose magazine. Excellent value £9 lunch. Huge bowl of mushroom soup which was delicious and a meal in itself. Followed with generous portion of mushroom pierogi with choice of 3 sauces: spicy tomato, mushroom or bacon and onion. All delicious but couldn't finish it all as too full! Tntend to return... More

My daughter & I had the £9 set lunch menu of soup of the day (buckwheat) & mushroom pierogis. She chose the mushroom sauce & I had spicy tomato. So glad we took advice from other diners on here & hadn't eaten much during the morning prior to this! We were auditioning the place for a possible dinner booking in the... More

This was our second visit. 3 of us had lunch on a Saturday. Overall, the experience was splendid and the waiter (who is married to the head chef) was charming and helpful. Lunch was substantial, and though we shared a starter or mixed pirogi, we were too full for dessert. My main, enticingly named ‘chicken stomachs in a wine sauce’... More

Went here for dinner with my partner and his family for a birthday meal. The restaurant from the outside looks very run down, but as soon as you get inside you feel instantly at home. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff are lovely. The decor is very interesting and really makes the experience. The food itself is beautiful,... More

Went on a family visit looking for somewhere different to eat instead of the usual burger restaurants. Had the set lunch menu at £9.00 great value. Soup to start which was great followed by dumplings. It must be good even my teenager enjoyed it !!! Friendly staff, very clean and fab décor. Will definitely be returning in the near future... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem. It doesn't look that impressive from the outside but don't let that fool you. Inside you are pleasantly surprised by a quirky traditional cosy decor with an authentic traditional feel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the service is faultless. The food is amazing. It is tasty and has a real home... More

Friends of mind visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and found the food excellent, as well as being good value. On our recent visit, we found the restaurant busy with (mostly English) diners and we were placed on a long table, which made conversation difficult for our big group. My starter of four small pieces of smoked "sheep's... More

Thank you very much for your opinions. Your feedback is very helpful, promises of increased attention on the quality of food served and the quality manual. My friends and I went for a dinner yesterday night. The decoration and atmosphere inside the restaurant is fantastic despite its external appearance. I had the mixed dumplings as starter and roast pork knuckle as main. The dumplings were pretty special and nice. The roast pork knuckle was a bit dry to me, not really my favourite. But perhaps that's... More

This a great little place slightly off the beaten track but only a 5 min walk from Moor Street. As everyone has already said it doesn't look great from the outside but don't let that put you off as it's a different world inside, very cosy and a few quirky objects to catch the eye. The service is very friendly... More

An excellent hidden gem of a restaurant in the heart of Birmingham, with a great atmosphere, wonderful attentive service, (never in your face) and really rather excellent food. Having spent many of the last 20 years living in Eastern Europe I can safely say the food we had was definitely authentic in both taste and presentation. This may sound obvious... More
