The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station. Proper Polish Food

We’ve been here a couple of times before. The menu has changed and is simpler and more English-friendly and, I think, a bit more expensive. The outside of the building isn’t very attractive (nor is the area it’s situated in, but in reality, it’s fine) and the inside is a bit of a kitsch take on a... read more

I went with friends after they recommended the place to me. Good food, good service, and great interior. Starter and main can be quite filling.

Polish friend took us here and we had some great, hearty food, including soup in a loaf of bread and some awesome potato pancakes, topped up with some Russian-style dumplings. Can't fault the food at all, and we all left absolutely stuffed. The service was average - we had to wait a while for our drinks, and we were always... More

Went for a lunch with my friend. We were only table in the restaurant at this time but was not easy to get waiter´s attention. Food is over priced, no service and once all meals had been eaten the bill came with a 12,5% charge added for service!!! We decide to not pay £9 service charge and leave £5 for... More

We came to celebrate a belated birthday using the amazon local voucher. Our host is very attentive while we looking at the menu he took time to go through the dishes with us. And the food is great portion and the taste is superb. Our little fella been a fussy eater so we bring our own food but the host... More

Very good traditional Polish food, big portions BUT really poor customer service! We ordered kids portion for an adult and were refused to be served even though the food was already prepared. The manager's response was that unless we order normal portion we can leave and eat somewhere else. Also don't try to bring your drinks over from the bar... More

I arranged a team lunch at The Karczma for 12 people. We pre-ordered our food due to the numbers but were extremely satisfied with the speed at which it was delivered. The food was amazing and the service could not be faulted in what we could only describe as a very welcoming environment. It was not my first time at... More

After reading many positive reviews decided to try out the Karczma. My wife and I had an excellent meal, with good service. The food and restaurant was in our view very original and pleasing to the overall eating experience. Highly recommended and will return to try out the other Polish dishes on offer.

I came here with two friends recently and we all really enjoyed our meal. I had the beetroot soup to start, which was incredible; so full of flavour and accompanied by delicious mushroom pate. I then had cheese and potato dumplings as a main course; these were good but a little stodgy and lacked the flavour of the soup. My... More
