Description: The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in...
The Karczma is a traditional Polish restaurant, bar and grill located in the heart of Birmingham, just 5min walk from both the Bull Ring Shopping Centre and Moor Street Rail Station. Restaurant is decorated in the style of an old Polish country cottage seating 85 people across 2 rooms. The menu is designed to reflect a homely, hearty and rustic food that's quintessentially Polish, and prepared using only the very best quality ingredients. The menu contains numerous Polish classics including Pierogi (stuffed dumplings), Berszcz (Beetroot soup), Pickled Herring, Zurek (Pickled Rye Flour Soup) served from a hollowed out loaf of bread, as well as a whole host of grilled meats and fish. We wish you a pleasant stay and Enjoy !!!

Four of us ate here for my husband's birthday on 27 December. The food was excellent - looked and tasted true Polish - and that's comparing it two 3 / 4 trips to Krakow and eating in proper Polish restaurants. I asked if they could do me a main to take home so I have it as part of a... More

Went as a family foursome, one of whom is Polish and regularly eats here. Good wide menu, it took a while to decide but we all enjoyed our different choices. Good attentive service reasonably priced andvery relaxed atmosphere. Will return.

Not the kind of place you would just stumble across so we were delighted that friends who know the restaurant well took us there. Such a unique restaurant...pretty sure you'd not find similar anywhere else! The decor is really authentic and homely as is the delicious food! My beef stew served on a potato pancake was perfectly tender & my... More

Authentic (so far as I know) Polish restaurant; excellent decor and ambience. It's a lot more spacious than it looks in their photos. Sensible wine list. I had the beef stew. The meat content was tiny, padded out by a huge, huge flat dumpling folded over to make a pocket. It was heavy going, and truth to tell, I didn't... More

We were fortunate enough to visit this restaurant with a couple of Polish friends. The restaurant seemed to be part of a Polish complex and appeared to be a focal point for Polish people. Plenty of tables laid out in two dining areas. The menu is in Polish and English and clearly designed for the Polish palette. Always good to... More

What an absolute treat it was to be here for Mother's Day. Spoilt for choice of delectable interesting food it was lovely to be able to taste a bit of everyone's and find each dish to be as tasty as the next one. The ambiance is enchanting and the service warm and welcoming. Other diners are relaxed too and open... More

My friend and I came here for a weekday evening meal and had a fabulous evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Having been to Poland a couple of times, I was surprised at how authentic the food was - great!! I had the pork knuckle, which was lovely and my friend had the beef stew... More
