Cheap, Friendly and Fast

This place is a lovely friendly environment apart from one lady who I presume is the manager is a miserable cow unfortunately. But all the other staff are welcoming and helpful. Would defiantly recommend if you want something slightly cheaper than the rest of harborne.

Nice location, good choice of food available, does get busy but well worth stopping if you need a little rest and recuperation after rambling around the Lickey Hills

Stumbled across this pub whilst in Birmingham last Thursday evening. Lovely surroundings and good bar staff. However, we ordered 2 meals that took an hour to arrive despite chasing. When the food arrived it was good, but barely got an apology for the delays. Another table had only 3 meals arrive for 4 people and after 20 minutes, she was... More

The place itself is very nice and could be easily made into a popular lunch time venue. The service is slow and the food is variable from poor to just ok

Great pub and lovely staff. I have stopped by a couple of times now since the renovation the pub has a really nice atmosphere and the food was great for the money. The bar staff served quickly and efficiently and is was nice to see the manager not only looking after her staff but also checking on her customers. She... More

Made our first visit a few weeks ago and it was very enjoyable. We went on a Saturday evening; I made a reservation earlier that afternoon and it was a good job that I did as the place was absolutely crammed in both the dining and bar areas. There was a little bit of confusion when we first arrived; the... More

Me and the wife frequently eat here as the food is very good and doesnt break the bank but they also have an extensive selection of ales. Inside the pub has a very cosy almost country pub field and as it is an Ember Inns pub there are a couple of great open fires perfect if your having a pie... More

I can't comment on the restaurant, but as a pub, certainly in the late afternoon, I thought this was great. The staff and locals were friendly and whilst this is not the most sophisticated venue in town, it certainly did me for a couple of beers after work. What topped it off????.......The lovely bar maid poured me my last pint... More

19/04/15 Have just been here for lunch, was decently priced (£7.50-£10 for a good Sunday roast). The customer service was exceptional, all staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating - very polite. Food was generally good for a pub lunch, particularly the desserts. One of our number had a mixed grill and another had grilled chicken - the only criticism is... More

Now that Spring is almost here we decided to visit the Hare and Hounds as it has had a refurbishment. It all looks so cosy and welcoming sitting there at the foot of the lickey hills and we found inside very smart with open fires and cheerful staff welcoming us back. The food, however, was a great disappointment to us.... More
