Not knowing Birmingham looked on Trip Advisor to find a restaurant for a family celebration. Found Annexe which really did live up to the excellent reviews. Great atmosphere, good food and the service was friendly and prompt. Some small trepidation when we arrived as the frontage is very unassuming, but this was soon changed when we got inside.

Weary from the excitement of the Christmas market in Birmingham. We headed down Corporation St which is slightly away from the melee, near to House of Fraser to grab that final shopping opportunity, but still easy walking distance from the town centre. If has an unassuming exterior (we nearly walked past it) but a Tardis like interior with a pleasant... More

Dear Madam, Thanks for visiting Annexe. We are very pleased you had such a good time here and always appreciate positive feedback. I just wanted to respond to your comment about scallops for the purpose of clarification: Our scallops are supplied unfrozen. Unlike other molluscs that can hold themselves tightly closed once caught, scallops cannot and are extremely perishable. For... More

Having seen the reviews for this place we thought how could we not give 'the hidden gem of birmingham' a go! We took our chances and booked ourselves tickets for the 'Prohibition Party' and had an absolutely fabulous evening. The food, service and atmosphere were all great and I cannot wait to come back here again. I can see why... More

From previous reviews was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. Found the food very average. Loving goat's cheese I had the Goat's Cheese Pearls. Not many pearls, but plenty of greenery, and why does everyone insist on pairing goat's cheese and beetroot? For main course I had the Lemon & Thyme Scented Swordfish with Puy Lentils. Usually swordfish comes... More

Dear Sir / Madam, Thanks for visiting Annexe. I am sorry you didn't enjoy our food as much as we would have liked. Regarding the goat's cheese, I appreciate you didn't feel there were sufficient pearls so we have looked at the dish again. Having done this we still consider that 5 of them plus roasted squash, beetroot and leaves... More

From the outside this restaurant looks like a cafe. However its like a tardis and is really great inside and the food we had was very tasty and different. The staff were excellent and the ambience most enjoyable. Well worth a visit even though it is a short walk from the centre. We shall certainly go again!!!!

My partner brought me here for my birthday as he knows I am a lover of french food. Immediately we were shocked to be escorted to the back of the restaurant (not seen from the road outside) where there was excellent music and black and white films playing on a main wall. The atmosphere was splendid and only enhanced when... More
