Good food, but depends on your tastes and the nights menu

Not our first visit but its been a while and the food just gets better. Friendly relaxed service. Really good wines. Some superb cooking - chicken liver parfait with toasted nuts and seeds; asparagus in a truffled cheese 'soup'; nettle soup; beef and smoked potato...all very very good. I rate it as excellent for cooking and service and hope it... More

Carters really impressed last night delivering a quality experience for our table. The service was impeccable yet relaxed, atmosphere good, food (tasting menu - varied from good to fantastic with Cornish lamb being my highlight) & wine that complemented the food at a reasonable price. Full marks to Holly & team - I'm sure we'll return.

Carters provides original.classy food in a relaxed environment with a very pleasant atmosphere, a small number of place settings, a wonderful.kitchen, a very good and inexpensive wine list and charming attentive staff. Key to the success are great ingredients, flair in cooking and a joy in serving good food. Visit soon.

Over four years in since it opened Carters of Moseley continue to care about everything they do, their customers, their food, their wine. We went recently for a birthday celebration with friends and enjoyed everything served by their friendly well informed staff. No wonder they have been recognised as the best restuarant in England by the Good Food Guide 2015.... More

First visit today. Went for Sunday lunch. Very nice food, imaginative flavours and combinations. Sunday lunch is choice of 2 options per course with a couple of chef's surprises thrown in. Food was lovely. Service was excellent. Excellent value for money. Sadly, restaurant was quite noisy. Loud music and seemed everyone at every table was trying to talk loud to... More

I've visited Carters twice recently. Once for Sunday lunch and then last night for the taster menu. The restaurant itself is really interesting with the 'wine wall'. The ambiance is just wonderful and the front of house and staff are so knowledgeable, professional yet extremely friendly. The food is to 'die for'. Each course is introduced and questions are welcomed.... More

This place is excellent and deserves the attention of the Michelin star people. Do not go if you want to be fed till you waddle; the portions are small and exquisite and the tastes deep and satisfying. The lamb was wonderful and the wild fennel custard and blood orange dessert had a vibrancy of taste I have only experienced occasionally;... More

OMG! What a place. We had our anniversary here and the food was to die for. 7 course set with additional courses and wine matching. Completely indulgent but worth every penny. The staff are superb and the owners very friendly. A true example of how to run a restaurant.

Visited Carters last night for a meal with my husband and had a great time. From the moment we entered till we left the staff couldn't do enough for us. As it's a taster menu there aren't many choices to make but they explained the additional courses and went through each course telling us about the food, how it is... More
