Description: Situated on St Pauls Church square, Andersons Bar and Grill is found in the interesting surroundings of former 18th century cellars. However this restaurant is as far from a dingy basement bar as it is possible to be lush, sophisticated dcor brings light and space to the brick arched room, changing displays of art is displayed on the walls and theres a definite buzz to the atmosphere. With a dedication to providing great value food in a relaxed setting along with top quality service, Andersons Bar and Grill is already making its mark on the local dining scene. The food, sourced locally is of course hearty grill fayre but presented with a touch of class so even old favourites such as Barnsley chop or grilled plaice are actually rather special.

The staff were very good here. We were a bit disappointed with our table which was among the Christmas office revelers, but OK, it's Christmas. Scallops were good, steak was tasty and correctly cooked. Wine choice was fine if a bit over priced at the top end. Overall, pretty good.

Booked a table for 7 for lunch on Friday 12th December. Appreciate it's 'silly season' right now so no real expectations except knew this place when it was The Bucklemaker. What a superb meal we had. There are so many disappointing xmas menus out there but our food was plentiful, exciting and of a great quality. I had confit of... More

being a grill We decided to go for the steak. Excellent. We thought the vegtable were too underdone for us. The sprouts were bullet hard. But that's a personal preference. But the chips and potatoes were very nice. The service was attentive throughout the meal. I can understand the earlier review saying the atmosphere was buzzing but on this day... More

Went with friends on a recommendation. A really buzzy atmosphere evident on entering. Very friendly greeting and drinks service - table was ready on time. Service was attentive throughout. Food was first class - fish and meat courses were excellent quality and cooked exactly to order....the steaks were beautiful. Puddings very tasty and portions throughout were a good size. Wine... We arrived, there was a great atmosphere and people were well dressed (which is nice to see!). The food was great, I had the mixed grill and my boyfriend the sirloin both thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were knowledgeable about the wine and the food which was very helpful. Hopefully will come back one day.

We went during the Christmas markets and had a great time. The prices are very reasonabke and the food delicious. We had the sharing steak for the main and it was delicious, although the starters were a little small. Just a word of warning, i have no idea if this is common practice, but if the staff offer you extra... More

I have eaten at Andersons a couple of times but this time was the worst. We ordered a steak to share and were given no advice when ordering from the waitress unlike other steak restaurants, the food came and bone running through the steak was so big it left so little meat to actually eat, when we complained the supervisor... Held our Christmas works dinner here, though a set menu with some pre made choices, excellent fare for what we paid, good service, with no waiting, recommended.

Came to this restaurant as we have heard really good things about it and I must say we didn't leave disappointed, we both had 8oz and 10oz steaks, mine was well done and my partners was medium, it was cooked perfect, the meat it's self is so soft, has no fatty bits in it at all, the service here from... A night away in Birmingham was made extremely memorable by my wife and I's experience here. From the start the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The pre-dinner cocktails, recommended wine and all 3 courses were fantastic. We both had the Shorthorn sirloin on the bone and agreed they were up there with the best we have ever tasted. The...
