Full of oil

Came here on a friends recomendation and it was the best one I have ever had. The food did take a while to come but as the baltis are freshly made to individual spice levels it is understandable because it worth the wait. BUT be careful though with the balti dishes as they are extremely hot as a friend had... More

If you are after the ultimate Balti, it has to be Shababs, the most authentic tasty Balti and tandoori food around......FACT! Friendly staff, make you feel welcome and always ready to help you make a decision if you are struggling to make your mind up from the vast array of dishes on the menu. Everything is cooked fresh and you... More

Came here on a busy Saturday without booking what a mistake but they did manage to get us seated within15 minutes. But it was worth the wait as I have never had a balti as good as this one. The chicken tikka chilli garlic was to die for especially with the garlic and coriander nan which was freshly baked. Definitely... More

We turned up at Shababs on Valentine's day evening and although we hadn't booked, we were promised a table even though they were extremely busy and obviously very popular. The wait for the table was worth it because the food was delicious and of high quality. The balti dishes were full of flavour and generous portions. This is a 'bring... More

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this simple balti house. Only complaint was that we waited for a long time for our starters to arrive, but they were worth waiting for. Main course baltis were favoursome and good value. Choose the breads, rather than the rice and bring your own bottle if you want a beer. Don't expect high... More

Right, I want to nip this in the bud. This restaurant is rubbish. I tuned up sober, I eat curry regularly, I live in Birmingham, and this was a shocker! Firstly the popadoms, cold and greasy. Me tioned this to the waiter and oredered more and on second attempt.....cold and greasy. Dips: raita......chunky, looked like vomit. And also with some... More

Hello, Shababs is a family run restaurant, on the 21st there was a family emergency to attend to. I really do feel embarassed having read these couple of reviews for this particular day. Clearly there was a real problem, and our high standard was definently not adhered to. We have run this establishment for 28 years and it has taken... More

Firstly, thank you for your reveiw. I really feel ashamed reading your comments. I have worked hard over the past 28 years with my family to build this restaurant to where it stands today. I am proud of my reputation and it really hurts to see what happened last weekend. There was clearly no sense of direction from management and... More
