From the outside this looks like a simple shop front, but inside some amazing food is served, but at an eye watering cost No draught beer, just expensive bottled ones We didn't have wine, but I suspect these would've required a Kings ransom Food is excellent, but just too much money

Expectations are high when visiting a restaurant with a Michelin star for the first time. We were not disappointed. We tried the nine course taster menu. It was obvious that many dishes were using ingredients that were in season, with tomatoes and berries playing big roles. Scallops and pork were both cooked perfectly. Taste and flavour were intense with many... More

Came here as part of a birthday gift for lunch. Decided on the 3 course lunch menu. Quality of the food was outstanding, served by very knowledgeable and helpful staff.Although the standard lunch menu was limited in choice this was more than made up for by the standard of the food. We were impressed to see Richard serving both front... More

We went to Turners for the 9-course tasting menu using an Amazon Local voucher and had our best fine dining experience in Birmingham to date. I have previously been to Purnell’s, Simpsons and Carters but the food and especially service were best at Turners. Food: Without spoiling the surprise, all of the food was delicious but two dishes in particular,... More

As others have commented the restaurant itself is in a rather unprepossessing run of shops. We weren't certain we had found the front door as there seemed to be a cheese table set up directly in front of it! Inside the setting is nice with very clever use of space and furniture. There are only a handful of tables and... More

We went to Turners with friends on a Friday lunchtime and had the 5 course lunch menu. The restaurant is quite small and all the tables were full. We started with canapes of smoked fish croquettes and oxtail donut which were delicious. Then came an amuse bouche of tomato jelly with prawns, flowers and herbs which was light and refreshing.... Had the 9 course tasting for lunch, coupled with the fine wine pairing, this was one of the best meals we've eaten. Service was friendly and relaxed. There are 2 packages of wine pairing, we splashed out and opted for the expensive one. They were fantastic. Some very different and unusual wines including a cloudy sauvignon and an Alicante wine... A real mixed bag this one. Using a football cliché it was a meal of two halves. Firstly, the food was overall, very good, particularly the jersey royals and the tomato presse, Pork not so good, sinewy and I was still chewing it when the waiter had cleared my plate. Lettuce accompaniment was far too citrusy as well, made it... More

Have now eaten in all 4 Michelin starred restaurants in Birmingham and for my money this is the best. One of the most complete meals we've ever had from start to finish. Every course worked even those which on paper didn't look too exiting loved the jersey royal potato. As a whole the menu was perfect with influences from Italy,... More

Taster menu was the only menu on offer that night. As expected the food was excellent, well up there with the same standard as the other Michelin star restaurants in Birmingham. However the service was below the standard expected of a star awarded establishment. Out of wine choice, alternate wine suggested only one bottle in stock ... shocked that on... More

Thank you for your constructive feedback. Whilst we greatly appreciate your positive comments about our cuisine, we are deeply concerned as to your expectations of our service standards falling short. We are assessing this internally and undergoing team training, and would welcome your direct feedback on a follow up visit. More
