Beautiful room and excellent menu

I visited Turners with my student son. Being a Wednesday evening in early February, it wasn't too surprising that we were the only table occupied, apart from one other. The dining room is beautifully laid out, with well spaced, well sized tables, very comfortable chairs, and overall, one has a... read more

7 course taster menu was a brilliant chance to try lots of new food in combinations you would never think of. The service was very attentive but the pace of it slow. Did feel by the last course that id had enough!! We had our table booked for 8 and finished after half 11. The quality and attention to detail... More

The lunch set menu has to be the best value meal around. 7 courses (including appetizers etc) all for £35, and each one executed with exceptional skill. Hospitality was first rate - I received a complementary paper whilst waiting for the menu, individual attention and excellent knowledge of ingredients and wines. You do need to allow 2 hours to enjoy... More

Came here to treat my girlfriend for xmas and for selfish reasons was the only Michelin star restaurant in Birmingham i had not been too. Slightly different proposition that the others in that they only have two menus which are both tasting menus in the evening, therefore straight away it is going to cost you more as you dont have... All due credit the food was fantastic, very tasty and tried some things i'd never experienced before. Myself and my girlfriend attended the restaurant on New Years eve for the tasting menu which was listed at £90 per person on the website however upon receiving the bill the food came to £270! (£135 per person). The total for the bill... More

Hats off to the staff and chefs. We were given an exceptional service. The food was amazing. My taste buds were having a party! Our bill was cheaper than rivals the Simpsons and the food on the day was a lot better and more for your money. The restaurant is smaller than most so I feel you get the experience... More

Consistent with other reviews on this site, the poor service dominates one's opinion. We arrived at 6.30 pm and had pre ordered the Turners simple menu which is a fixed menu of around 6 courses. The food was generally good, all well prepared and presented. Some of the combinations weren't unanimously liked, that was more personal taste I sense than... More

As one would expect, the food here was exceptional reflecting seasonal foods and excellent cooking. However, our evening was spoilt by the slow service and unfortunately thats the enduring memory of the evening. Given that we were having the tasting menu, we were expecting to spend most of the evening over it, but we arrived at 7.30 and didn't leave... More

Squid carbonara was simply mind blowing. I still have it's taste in my mind. The concentration of carbonara taste was simply amazing. If you can take the wine. I didn't and probably because of that some dishes tasted pretty salty. And make sure you are really hungry before you go there :).
