We had been to Shogun a few times before, but not before it moved to The Cube. Got a sudden urge to eat sushi today, I thought Shogun would at least be better than Woktastic up by the library...How wrong I was... This place had just gone from BAD to TERRIBLE!!! Today is a Saturday so I would expect a... More

Went for teppanyaki option. Rude waitress and little English. Chef performs tricks as he cooks in front of you, maybe to distract you from how terrible the food is. Chose chicken teryaki (£30), received a bowl of salad covered in salad cream ...(looked like the cheap bags of crunchy salad available in supermarkets), then arrived some dry chicken skewers in... I was taken here as a surprise for my birthday, and am really glad we went. I am not a Sushi person and visiting here didnt change my mind at all but the food and experience we did have was an excellent start to my evening. I was a little concerned when the romantic meal I had thought we would... More

I'll keep this as brief as possible...the food - we went to the sushi buffet; it's around £13 a head and the sushi is just ok. Not great but don't expect loads for that amount...HOWEVER...they add a 10% service charge as standard to the bill. As it was a buffet and there is therefore no service (drinks only), we politely... Hubby and I love sushi. We were sorely disappointed when we chose to have a meal together here tho. We though we would go for the buffet so we could try different things. It really was tasteless :( Also, the amount of noise that was coming from the tables opposite as the chefs get everyone to shout needlessly over cracking... More

I gave this place a few go's, wanting it to be good, but it's not, and i made a vow to never go back. Overpriced, flavourless sushi. Sushi train - boring and what i would call un-authentic. Seem to circulate the same 5 dishes and very rarely do they put special dishes on the belt. I don't like that it's... More

A party of four looking to show two guests a first time sushi experience. Could barely have been worse. The menu offers a large selection but they are "sold out" of any and all good items. The sushi was warm when served, and was flavorless. It is not fresh or good quality. We had sea bass, tuna, eel, and salmon.... More

If you're just deciding where to eat in Birmingham, you can stop right now because you've just find the right place :) We've ordered the big table where the meal is prepared right in front of us and it was a good show not mentioning that the meal was really great.

Went there with a friend on a Sunday afternoon so there was no need to book. The menu was varied and the food was substantial, well cooked and tasty. Quite reasonable prices too.

Staff are very polite, pleasant & welcoming. Sushi is delicious, but needs to have a more varied selection as can be quite repetitive. All you can eat sushi for under £30 for two people, very good value. Visit quite regularly, but still reluctant to pay 10% service charge... As you serve yourself!
