Sat opposite the cooking station. You can see the chef cook right in front of you, but hey! add some flavorus to the food.. give it some life.. veg spring roles and chicken satay was good. But everything else was tasteless.

Tepanyaki is more about the experience than the food, although the food is rather good too! It's the first time we've been since the restaurant moved from the Mailbox to the Cube, and it was the first time the children have had Tepanyaki, so much fun was had. This evening the food was good but not the best I've had... More

£12.95 for an unlimited buffet is great, combine that with superb tasting sushi and you've got a winner. Disappointed by the automatic 10% service charge, especially as you serve yourself.

I had a bit of a 'meh' attitude to sushi for years - it's ok as pre-packed supermarket stuff, but hugely expensive from restaurants. I have always been intrigued by the conveyors of sushi where you just pick off whatever you like. And that's what you get at the Shogun - but even more than that: it is literally all... More

Visited here several times over the past 3 years and I can say that I haven't been disappointed in any occasion. I must note however that I only have had the sushi buffet at lunch times, which I believe is amazing value for money. I think the last time I was there it was 12.95 for all you can eat.... More

Thought it would be a pleasant change from other restaurants, particularly since my wife is Japanese. What a disappointment!! The food very mediocre (not in quantity but quality), the staff and manager (so he said) were so full of themselves it was cringingly embarrassing at times. The so called showmanship of the chef was worthy of a cheap clip joint... More

We visited this restaurant while away on business in Birmingham. The restaurant was lovely great decor and staff were very friendly We chose the delux tepanyaki set meal which was pricey at £39 each but it's a great way to try a bit of everything. The chef was very entertaining we love Japanese restaraunts as its nice to have a... More

Whenever I've come to this place for lunch , the restaurant has nearly always been empty, which probably explains why there is not much variety on the sushi belt! On this occasion I came with my mother and my sister. I think there were only about 6 varietys of sushi going round on the belt, with ingredients that I could make... More

Visited many years ago when they were within the mailbox, but first time I've visited the cube I took my wife as thought it would be entertaining along with good food but we didn't get any of this on this occasion. We did see another table that had a more entertaining chef then we did, but still didn't look as... More

What lovely friendly staff they have, particularly our waitress Billy. We selected two Bento dishes, one chicken and the other prawn with portions of a number of taste experiences enjoyed with a large glass of wine each. An early evening pleasant interlude.
