I love the theatre of Japanese food especially for a first date. It provides a welcome distraction and social type environment that other cuisines can't really compete with. This place is no different, The chef cooks beautifully and entertain to the point that you start to notice people walking past pressing their faces amongst the window to share our visual... More

Great food, show cooking was fantastic. We visited as part of a promotion, but the restaurant was empty apart from one other couple. This meant that we had almost one to one service from wait staff, but the atmosphere was a little strained.

we had a very good entertaining experience.Food cooked at the table while we watched as the chefs preformed there set routine while cooking. This is only my 2nd tappenyaki but would like to say its the best todate. No free parking close bye but plenty of meter parking if you want to pay the cost per hour. Over all well worth... More

One of my colleagues was leaving, and having declared Shogun as his favourite restaurant, 11 of us visited. We opted for the teppanyaki menu, prepared by the chef at one of the horseshoe tables. What followed was organised chaos, though none of it caused by the restaurant staff I should add. I felt complete admiration for the chef patiently dealing... More

Although there was little of the chefs entertainment (having been to a few Tappenyaki in different countries) I don't go to the restaurant to be entertained (that's a bonus). The food (using A groupon voucher) was cooked to perfection, king prawn, salmon, chicken along with rice and bean sprouts. Washed down with a reasonably priced bottle of Malbec this was... More

Went for fathers 60th - fabulous time was had by us all. The chefs were entertaining and the food was great. I had the set menu Tokyo option - fried rice and steak was cooked in front of us it was great. Really yummy and the servers were great

Went here with a huge party of about 20+ people for a birthday. Food was not great - very bog standard and overpriced. Question of hygiene standards here just from the point of view of the grills looking dirty, food being exposed and not covered etc. Mixing of raw ingredients etc. It's entertaining and the chefs try to accommodate food... We recently went as a party of 4 with a Groupon Voucher and whilst we had experienced Teppanyaki before, the others hadn't. The service was good and efficient, salad and starter served with our drinks and the the Chef came in. The Teppanyaki was great, Chef used humour and showed off some cooking skills and also getting the Bday Boy... More

You could either go with the buffet option or the teriyaki (set menu) In my opinion, buffet is reasonable priced for decent sushi. Teriyaki perhaps for slightly more special occasion or company meal. Slightly more expensive than the buffet option. Food is average but entertainment makes up for it. It has good atmosphere and you definitely won't be hungry after
