If you are looking for a cheap Chinese meal the Big wok will not disappoint but all the dishes I tried could have been prepared better. There certainly is a massive selection but the decor is very poor and coupled with the cheapest of cutlery and plates does lend to a canteen style image. Can get very busy at peak... More

Went for lunch before a show. Good choice for a lunch, food hot and fresh. Surroundings a bit like a canteen but clean. Overall good value.

My partner and I worked out it had been 10yrs since we last visited the Big Wok. Its still shoved down the same grotty side street, still has the feel of a school dining hall but did I expect things to have changed ?, i guess not . If you want simple, does what it says on tin food and... More

We visit big wok on a number of occasions and there has never been a problem. It's great value for money with a good variety of well cooked foods. We have also taken our son who is 4 and is lactose intolerant, in some places we have problems with the staff knowing about the contents of the food but not... More

We visited here looking for Chinese buffet, it's down a dingy side street and looks down at heel itself. The restaurant is dated and in dire need of a freshen up, you can smell the February in the restaurant!! The food wasn't bad, nothing special. The arrangement of being given a sticker to show what you gave laud for is... More

I do not like big wok for the simple reason it is far too much like a school diner. The layout is horrendous, the buffet area is scruffy and too small and the general atmosphere is bland. Would recommend paying the little extra and going to Ming Moon, much better atmosphere, decorations, food and the staff are much friendlier and... More

I have been going to the Big Wok for years and most of my experiences had been brilliant. However this last visit was not so good, most of the foods were cold but we carried on anyway since my husband and I loved the place. Went there around 5:40pm for dinner, the price was okay, lots of variety but it... More

Visited Big Wok as close to theatre. Not the best Chinese buffet I have ever had but for £6:49 what do you expect? Plenty of choice even for the fussiest of eaters and there were lots of locals eating there, but the restaurant itself is a cross between a school canteen and a greasy spoon, look up at the ceiling... This is probably the worst chinese buffet I have ever been to. The atmosphere is poor and it appears generally run down. The only good point is that the staff are very friendly. As for the food, there was plenty of choice but it was poor quality. Starters were dry and had clearly been standing for ages. Main course was... More

Went here around 5.15 p.m. on the way back from shopping, no atmosphere and the food seemed to have been sitting in the hot trays all afternoon as it seemed very dry and the meat looked as if it had been there all day !, the price is o.k. but there is not much variety and there are better Chinese...
