Lovely canalside pub and best roast in town

The Cape is well worth a visit whether your passing along on your narrowboat or live in the area. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Small menu, but with some really lovely treats on there. Their roast dinners are second to none and served right throuhg from 12noon to 9pm on... read more

Not the first time we've been here and it never fails to impress. We were visiting friends who live only 5 minutes walk away and they eat regularly here and can't praise it enough. The beer is interesting and well served as are the cocktails and the food is quite frankly restuarant quality

Four adults, two children and a dog, all hungry after a long day on the canal stopped for refreshment. Excellent beer on tap. Special of the day "beer battered fish, chips and minted peas" came in very generous platefuls (even the small portions). Tasted as good as it looked. Just one downside, we were asked to keep the dog lead... More

Food was standard pub grub, nothing to shout about. The beer was good and the position on the canal is pretty cool. Would happily make this my local but wouldn't travel from afar to dine.

Lunched here recently on a business trip. Fantastic choice of food (excellent fish and chips), lovely beer from the Hook Norton brewery. Sat outside watching the world go by along the canal. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

I cannot wait for the summer to sit outside here with a Good ale watching the barges go past. So glad this pub had been saved and back to its glory. Fantastic.

I have again visited by canal these premises, which I have done since 1973. when I first went there it looked forlorn lost in derelict industrial land and now there are new residential developments that have made the area vibrant. The atmosphere is fantastic all be it that it was the six nations with England playing. The choice of Real... More

I real find. Good food & a great selection of beers. The staff very friendly. On the Friday night we visited it was vey busy but served at the bar very quickly and did not have long to wait for two very good meals. Will visit again if in the area.
