We went here for a midweek treat, we have been here many times but for drinks on the canal in the sun never for food. Well I wished I had tried it earlier! Absolutley gorgeous food and reasonably priced. The staff are really friendly and will definitely go back. Everything I saw them deliver I wanted to eat. The only... More

Really friendly NZ crew serving a good choice of well kept real ales. All the food looked good but I had the steak pie, mash and peas which was excellent.TIP - ask for the 'liquor/gravy separate - it comes in a separate jug, is excellent and doesn't make the lovely, crispy pastry soggy.

On our way back from a soggy Tunbridge Wells yesterday our daughter found this restaurant on trip advisor. What a find ! Great hosts and menu, the paella was especially worth waiting for as it cooked from scratch , made a real occasion of an otherwise dreary bank holiday Monday :)

Went to this wonderful little pub for a Saturday night family meal. We had read about this in a review for the premier inn. It's a short 5 min walk from the Premier Inn, my husband booked online in the morning and got email confirmation before lunch. The pub is friendly and welcoming, set by the canal! Reservations are left... More

This pub has tried to go up-market over the past year or two. Main courses now come with flowers on the plate! The food has always been very good and still is. We stopped twice on a recent canal trip: service was a bit chaotic both times. The first time they lost our reservation (reservations are essential as the dining... More

This pub restaurant could make you obese lol, as they serve smashies, which are roast potatoes, that have then been deep fried and are totally addictive. Found this place as I was looking for somewhere else to eat other than the premier inn that we was staying in, nothing wrong with the premier inn restaurant but fancied an escape. The... More

We've been meaning to go for a meal for a long time, and often had a canal side drink without properly going in .... Mid week, fancied a meal out & gave it a try. Four things made it stand out; fantastic, friendly & welcoming staff (they clear glasses at some rate!); great proper pub food; great value; proper country... More

We moored up close by on the canal as we always look forward to dropping in when we pass by. The place now has a strong Kiwi influence and the food is excellent. "Jimmy's Scotch Egg" was absolutely superb and the steaks were done exactly as ordered. We eat in the bar area as we had a dog with us... More
