Excellent

A warm friendly welcome in a traditional canal-side pub. Local beers with a selection of half a dozen real ales. Great food at very reasonable prices with excellent service. A proper pub, serving proper beer and proper food. What's not to like?

We arrived at the Cape after a delayed election count at 415 in the afternoon having planned to go for lunch here. It was still available and fish and chips and Harry's Heffer was just what we needed.

Right next to the canal, this pub is a little hidden from the street, but it is a really good find. The food here is very good and made fresh, most who gather here are locals - always a good sign! While you find what you'd expect on a pub menu, there are also some more restaurant type dishes and... More

Only just found this fantastic place, our son has been at Warwick uni since Oct 2014 but only discovered this little gem when we visited on may day bank holiday to celebrate my husbands 50th. We travelled up on the Friday night didn't get there till 8.45 the welcome we received was brilliant the food even better. We called in... More

We recently went with friends to this pub for a meal. From the outside it just looks like an oldie worldie canal side pub that's perhaps seen better days! But once inside the staff were very attentive and friendly and we was made most welcome. The food was extremely good, the scotch egg starter with black pudding was superb and... More

Absolutely love this pub, it's now becoming our local for food or even a quick drink after a walk across the canal with the dogs. The food is fantastic, ale pie and chicken pasta are two of my favourites topped with a chocolate tartlet desert. The team/staff are wonderful, dressed the same with pubs name displayed on T-shirts at the... More

Having not visited this iconic pub for several years, we were concerned that it might have lost its way and charm but not a bit of it. We moored up opposite at around lunch time and I popped in for a quick reconnoitre and a pint of Old Hooky. Both missions were excellent and made more so by the warm... More

You really need to come here and try the scotch egg! Really good atmosphere and the bar staff are great, there's a Scottish guy and the guy with a ponytail went out of their way to meet our food requests.

This place really saved the day. Gorgeous location on the canal bank. Delicious home cooked food at amazing prices. Excellent friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Would stay at Premier Inn nearby but come here to eat next time.
