On a trip from Surrey to Manchester, we planned a stop here for dinner. We chose this restaurant for it's proximity to the motorway, pleased not to have to endure motorway fast food. The website clearly states that food is served until 9.30pm, there was no added info regarding the evening that we were visiting having any special arrangement and... More

This was our first visit after the change of ownership and we were a bit apprehensive following the mixed reviews. We live in the village and regularly dine at the pub so it was important that the food quality remained high. I'm pleased to say that we were really pleased with the food. We had scallops to share as a... More

Had dinner here while in Barford on business. The restaurant was quiet, clean and comfortable. The menu choice is small, but the food was good and very good value. Nice beers on tap. Very good service.

We dinned at the Granville last week, the place was busy inside as it was wet, but the service was quite quick. Both of us had the burger, as good as The Bridge or the Opposition. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.

We stopped to break up our journey, welcomed by fantastic bar staff we hadn't booked but were shown to a lovely table in the bar area with a bistros feel. To start my wife ordered the ham terrine, perfect was her reaction. I had the fish cake to be honest best I have ever had fantastic. For mains I had the roast... More

Turned up to a welcoming barman who seated us right by the steps that everyone passes. Wouldn't mind, but there were only 2 other diners in there. We asked for the fixed price menu, but were told they didn't do it anymore. We'd gone there for this menu as it's advertised on their website. Food was good, but we waited... More

We booked dinner for 3 couples at this "gastro-pub" as it was a midpoint for driving. We are quite a picky crowd but everyone enjoyed the food from the shortish mid-priced menu. From smoked salmon to soup starters, pork fillets to burgers for mains, it was all well cooked and nicely presented. The service was friendly and attentive enough as... More

First visit to this pub yesterday. Oh dear. What a real shame, it seems it used to be quite good - and it has the potential to be great, it's pretty, and the food (when it eventually arrived) was actually great. But - exactly as the other few reviews have said - it's chaos. Dozens of teenage staff wandering around... More

Reasonable food nice atmosphere, service was friendly but chaotic. Good burgers, disappointing risotto, and a lifetime wait for service while other tables seemed relatively efficiently served. : so so

Sorry but didn't like this pub at all, you got the impression when you walked in that you shouldn't be in there. Sat in the garden with a menu, but no one came out to us, although they did come and serve other customers, I went in the bar and went to order the food but was told they don't... More
