This restaurant is highly rated, and rightfully so. They serve high end food (mostly British classics but also some other imaginative dishes such as Thai spice fishcakes and Cod wrapped in Prosciutto). They use local ingredients. My only (minor) complaint was the lack of draft beer options, but the have a good selection of bottled beers and of course wine,... More

Good, fit-for purpose pre-theatre two course menu. £11.95. Very nice pear and stilton salad starter, with a decent braised beef main. Slight downside was meagre portion size for main, but probably inevitable, considering the fixed price. Would re-visit on the off chance that ordering off the a la carte would yield a bit more food on the plate. Nice ambience,... More

I went back to Stratford to visit family and we went for Sunday lunch here. All the food was cold and the beef was tough. The waitress that greeted us was a bit rude when we tried to follow her to our table. It wasn't ready apparently so we were told very sternly to wait and not follow her. Would... More

Had a lovely meal last night in this restaurant which was directly opposite our hotel. The waiter John Luc was professional but also found time for conversation making us feel very welcome. I had sea bass and my husband had the local butchers bangers and both were delicious. The banofee pie and sticky toffee pudding were also spot on. We... More

Recommended by our B&B hosts, had a great dinner before the play at the Shakespeare Theater. Wife said her beef stew was the best in her life. Great service.

We returned to the restaurant after an absence of a number of years. We were impressed with the atmosphere, the décor and also the warmth of the welcome we received. The menu was quite extensive and had dishes to suit most tastes, the black pudding and chorizo salad was particularly good. Good food in a good atmosphere with excellent service... More

Second visit here organising a dinner for colleagues after a training course. First time here was exceptional and this time I was super impressed by how smoothly they dealt with our numbers (24 for dinner) and the run up to the event. Food is lovely here, the set menu gives loads of choice, including coeliac options and is priced very... More
