Have stopped here in the past for tea and cakes which I can also recommend! This time we decided to try a pre theatre meal and were not disappointed. Lovely fresh food and staff were very helpful and made every effort to accommodate my friend who has an allergy to certain foods. Loved the decor and enjoyed the piano playing.

The Church Street Townhouse has been one of our favourite eateries in Stratford but our latest visit was very disappointing. The menu has been changed and it is now pretentious and poor value with tiny portions, no specials and no side dishes. I had a starter which comprised of Langoustine Scallop and ham hock. It was very expensive for a... More

Friday nights are excellent, get there early. Having spent the afternoon lazing in the sun, this was a fabulous way of having a quick drink before the RSC. Live piano playing and champage at £20 a bottle (special offer) - how can you beat it. Lovely venue.

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday evening meal here recently whilst fantastic live music played in the background and at a comfortable level of not being too overbearing but drawing you in at the same time. The food was delicious, especially the ham hock in the starter and the oat crusted liver in the mains. Even the bread... More

Dinner for two - great feel to the place - and the food was fantastic. The salad with the 'tomato marshmallow' lovely, the ham hock and langoustine perfect and the hake and chorizo one of the best fish dishes ever - 10/10

Celebrating our anniversary looking for something secial and this restaurant fitted the bill perfectly. We had beef dinner and it was just so succulent and perfectly cooked, probably the best I've eaten... staff were helpful, cheery and attentive. Perfect in every way

We had lunch here by accident, just looking for somewhere slightly away from the main streets before going to the theatre. It seemed popular and although we hadn't booked and were lucky, it filled up quite quickly. It turned out to be a three/four minute walk from the theatre. We had two nice freshly made sandwiches, one with chips, two... More

We ate here last week, Food was Average at best, Chicken very dry, and chips were soggy, and way too salty. Manager looked like he did not want to be there, young girls serving were too busy chatting to there friends at the bar to serve drinks. Regulars all sit at the bar, so it's impossible to get served, without pushing... More

Visited this restaurant with my partner last year (new to trip advisor) and was one of the best meals we have ever had. We both had starters, mains and cheese board to share, a bottle of wine with dinner and 2 pre dinner drinks for £90, which we found value for money for the area. Staff were very helpful and... More
