Summer visit

This is still one of my very favourite restaurants. The quality and the range of food never disappoints and the staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful in checking any food intolerances. Good wide ranging wine list to suit all pockets

Have eaten here for a family gathering, quite a small dining room and tables are quite close together. Great food, excellent service, although serving drinks to table by hand without a tray is a bit pub like. Would recommend to others though, and will return

Fine dining. Wonderful food and efficient, friendly yet appropriately understated service. Ideal for special family occasion, romantic dinner or leisurely lunch with friends. Lovely atmosphere. Very few tables and intimate within old beamed, uneven building but, strangely, one doesn't feel crowded by others. Probably need to book well in advance for weekends. Highly recommended,

This was recommended to us by two unconnected people who live in Stratford and it certainly lived up to the recommendation. We've tried a number of restaurants in Stratford and this is definitely the best. I would recommend it to friends and family without hesitation.

It is with a somewhat heavy heart that I write a negative review. I booked a table for two as a celebration of my birthday for my partner and I. Now admittedly, i dont frequent good restaurants and im probay not what is considered "target market" for this establishment. But i was quite willing to part with tripple digit figures... More

We booked this restaurant for 6 of us as a pre-theatre meal on a Saturday. When we entered I couldn't help but be disappointed with the decor of the restaurant. The carpets were really worn and dirty as was the window ledge behind me. However, all was forgotten when my food arrived. I had beef koftas and steak and I... More

I've wanted to try this restaurant for a while and finally managed to book in for a meal before seeing 'Othello'. This was a mother/daughter treat and we were really pleased. One of the reasons I chose it was that the vegetarian options offered on sample menus differed from the ubiquitous mushroom risotto, goats cheese or tart. We were pleased... More

We are always on the lookout for pre-theatre when we go to Stratford, so having read positive reviews for #9, we gave it a try. It’s really very good, an excellent place for a meal before the play. We both went with the set menu (£18 for three courses) and both started with the beef kofta: a large spicy meatball... More

We had a very nice lunch. Very relaxed. Our food was well prepared. Service was quite congenial. Most of Stratford is a tourist trap, so this is a hidden gem.
