Fine food in a fine atmosphere. We were looking for a place for a quick sandwich and we passed nr.9 Church Street. A quick look on trip advisor learned us that this was the nr. 1 here. We changed our plans and took a lunch & pre-theatre menu. We didn't regret our changement of plans.

I took my team here on Wednesday night to celebrate one of the guys retirement after 31 years of service. No 9 did the occasion proud! We were warmly greeted & shown to our private room - intimate but not formal. The service was second to none and the waiter offered great recommendations on the wine and the food. When... More

The service was inconsistent and they were very slow in bringing or asking re drinks . The food was ok but a little over complicated ,some lovely... More

We visited the restaurant on a Friday night and it was reasonably quiet throughout the meal. We opted for both starters and main courses and the food we had was all of a high quality and well cooked. The only let down we had was that we found 3 bones in the piece of filleted fish on one of the... More

My daughter and I had a meal from the pre theatre menu here on a Saturday. I cannot fault the staff, from the gentleman on the phone who originally took the booking, to the serving staff on the night, they were all very welcoming and pleasant. The only issues were the cramped tables, which meant talking was a bit difficult... More

We stopped in here for lunch after scouting around for somewhere with a suitable menu (we're two vegetarians). I think we caught them at the tail end of their lunchtime service as we had the place to ourselves! We both had the soup of the day (chilled courgette and rosemary - perfect for the hot weather) followed by the grilled... More

We dined here with our grand-children on Saturday. The service was attentive and pleasant; the food beautifully cooked and presented. My grand-daughter (9), pronounced the chicken as " delicious" and " absolutely perfect"! The crab salad tasted really fresh and the fish moist and firm. Of particular note seemed to be the gingerbread ice cream with gooseberry crumble. The Fondant... More

If you need a good place for lunch or dinner in Stratford upon Avon. No 9 church street is well worth considering. Excellent menu with good choice of fish dishes, good wine list, friendly and efficient staff. Central location but off the main tourist trail and prices are reasonable for the quality of food and surroundings.
