Description: Situated just 2 minutes from the centre of Stratford upon Avon, and 5 minutes from the Royal Shakespeare Theatres, Il Moro is a small, intimate, family run Italian restaurant with a Sardinian twist. Chef/owner Massimiliano Melis, from Selargius, a small town in the south of Sardinia believes in serving traditional, simple, home-made Italian cuisine but also enjoys the challenge of infusing flavours from his homeland into his dishes, making Il Moro a little bit more than the average Italian restaurant.Within a cosy and personal surrounding, guests can relax amidst artwork made by the family and traditional artefacts, old photographs, plates and tapestries from Sardinia. Stepping into Il Moro is like stepping into another world - one that is steeped with tradition and has a real authentic feel but is at the same time contemporary and fresh in its approach to food and service.

This little gem is tucked away on Greenhill Street. But not for long... Good luck at ur new venue. Our meal last week was really something else. Prawns cooked to absolute perfection! We chose a stunning wine to compliment our meal - truly something special. Thank you & what a pleasure!!

Having been hearing good things about this place for a couple of years, we finally got our act together and went for a meal - the last night before the restaurant moves to new premises. We were not disappointed. From the friendly welcome on arrival to the complimentary liquor we were offered at the end of the meal, the service... More

This place is a lovely little oasis. It's food is delicious and the atmosphere very relaxing and intimate. However, i consider myself to be well travelled and certainly well fed!!! But the menu was incomprehensible. There was maybe an ingredient or two i recognised on each dish but had to have the entire menu translated to me. The italian waitress... More

Had pre theatre dinner this august for 2. Given the reviews we expected good food. The place is nice, staff as well. Food and prices are completely off, though. We had a fisso menu to share and the pasta fresca of the day. Salmon carpaccio was barely ok, very bland, smoked salmon directly from the pack, and served in a... More

This is a small intimate restaurant which caters for food with a Sardinian flavour. A little expensive which is primarily the effect of the town itself which is viewed as a notch above others, however the food & service are very good. Wise to book especially at weekends, as it is a popular venue.

We booked here on a travelzoo voucher that was purchased by a family relative for my husbands birthday. We had never heard of the restaurant before. All I can say when they move premise I hope nothing changes as this lunch was out standing. The menu was explained to us.I had a deep fried crumb coated mozzarella to start and... More

My partner and I were introduced to the restaurant by a Travelzoo offer. We were welcomed by the charming staff Lenty and Razvan who took time to describe the specials of the day and also the à la carte menu. For the entrées we chose Calimari and Bruschetta. The Calimari came with a flavoursome garlic dip and the Gamberoni Bruschetta... More

Left to fend for myself whilst my wife hit the shops in London, I ventured further from Stratford centre than normal . I was the only diner at 7.00 pm, seems like the theatre was closed. I had the fig and Palma ham to start ,superb, and tagliattale with prawns as a main, excellent. Other diners gradually drifted in but... More
