An Indian restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

This establishment in Newcastle city serves Keralan ( Indian) cuisine. The staff was attentive and polite and service was prompt. The food was good and not as spicy as expected. Nice tall ceilings and decor was not overdone where one can feel a sense of space. We enjoyed the food especially after... read more

We have been here several times in the past, but made a welcome return- and the food was even better than we remembered. As different from your usual curry as you can get, this is wonderful eating. This Kerala inspired chain knows how to make wonderful meals - try the seafood karu mura, the peppered lamb (adipoli eradi mulagu) and... More

Very good quality food that provides a different style/flavour of Indian food that you might find in Indian restaurants. They were tasteful, subtle and I would try them again.

We visited because this place has a growing reputation. All 4 of us ordered the Meat Feast which arrived quickly after our pickles and basket of banana chips, Achappam, Murukku & Papadums which were interesting, fun & tasty. The Starter of a Dosa (?) with Red Onion Chutney, a King Prawn with Mayonnaise and a Fish Soup was good but... More

The first thing that I love about this place is that it does not serve the normal pureed stuff as Indian food. It serves authentic South Indian food to a very high standard. I am a South Indian and a foodie, take it from me there are not many places outside India which serve such authentic South Indian food. The... More

This was our third visit to this restaurant over a space of 3 years but this is only because we don't live in Newcastle. If we did I'm sure we would eat there more often. The cuisine is Keralan which is quite different from the normal type of food one finds in Indian Restaurants. We had poppadoms to start which... More

This was a disappointing experience. We ordered the 'feast' because the menu had such an interesting variety of food and we wanted to try new things, yet what we got were a few large portions of standard fare. We felt short changed at the time - and even more so when we found out that the same meal costs nine... More

Been to this restaurant while on a visit to my relatives while in UK. The hotel is situated ideally near to the river side which is basically sort of tourist /visitors area. Ambiance is good and furnishings are OK. These restaurant serves food that are not normally found in all Indian restaurants, It is basically ethnic theme cuisine. They serve... More

We had the feast which presented a real variety which was ideal as there was so much on the menu that was new. Truly authentic Kerralan cuisine. The dosa was delicious. The chicken curry to die for. Nothing was too much trouble. They gave us extra dishes because we were curious. Drinks were pricey but overall value for money spot... More

Chose this restaurant because it was relatively close to where we were staying and my colleague is a vegetarian. The menu offered different choices to most Indian restaurants and has something for all tastes. It was relatively quiet on the Tuesday evening we visited, arriving about 7.30pm. For this reason service was prompt and friendly, but it did mean atmosphere... More
