Mamma Mia has long been a family favourite. Tucked away down the narrow lane delightfully called Pudding Chare, Mamma Mia is a really nice Italian restaurant offering good food and good service. The menu offers a good variety and cannot be faulted. As with a number of restaurants in Newcastle, what stops it getting a 5 rating are the toilet... More

Excellent value restaurant and must be one of the cheapest in town. Food was cooked to perfection and very friendly staff. Would certainly visit again

This restaurant is tucked away in an alleyway near the Bigg/Cloth/Groat Market. We've been going there for years for Happy Hour. I particularly like that you can half a half pizza with salad/chips. There is a good choice on the menu but I can never get past my favourite Romana pizza (tuna and garlic) and I always ask for extra... More

The food was no more than at the most average, but service was good. The problem with most italian restaurants is the lack of taste. Depending on your dish there should always be a taste of Herbs of some sort, garlic always gives a good taste to most italian dishes but here there was nothing. The restaurant is a Little cosy place, reason for... Went for a quick lunch when in town. Had always eaten here when the previous owners had it. Shown to a table by the stairs in a corner when the place was empty bar two couples. felt like they didn't want us in there. Lovely waitress (her first day there -think she was polish ) took our drink orders. Decided... More

Went with a party of 16 for my wife's graduation, arranged in advance with Sonia the owner the table layout, they provided decorations and arranged a fabulous cake. All of our party raved about the food and the restaurant itself. We were there from 7.30 till closing and never once felt rushed. Thank you to Sonia and her team for... More

Even tho the staff were very nice, the food was appalling and the restaurant itself was ridiculously cramped. Hard to enjoy food when it's bland and tasteless and your constantly being hit in the back by other people in the restaurant. Won't be returning.

I ate a simple pizza Margherita and it was quite normal, nothing amazing. Nobody inside looks like Italian and the kitchen is simply lousy. The staff was courteous and the prize cheap however I think I won't go back.
