I've noticed from our last couple of visits it's not quite what it used to be. It's not bad and I quite like the bring your own drink and no corkage chanrge but even with this I probably will not return in the very near future as there are so many others in the area that are just that bit... More

Third visit to the Café Bangla which is now un-licensed so take your own alcohol - there's no corkage charge! Excellent food, which tastes freshly cooked and very friendly efficient service - well worth a visit.

Restaurant has lost its drink licence which explains the catastrophic fall off in trade;used to be good but now in the final throes of death before becoming a takeaway. No light heating or atmosphere; toilets dirty and unkempt or loo tissue;,such a shame as it used to be aspiration all to visit. Cook wears jeans and t shirt no enthusiasm... More

consider for a moment that Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine is more than you will get in the standard 'takeaway' and try something a little different. Last night I chose one of the chefs specials, and the spicing and cooking of this powerful yet delicate meal leads to the review title. A simple combination of lamb and onion combines to produce... I went here for an anniversary meal with my husband. We really enjoyed the fresh flavours and wide choice. It was nice to be able to eat out without it being unhealthy. Would definitely go back!

The food here is really nice. There are lots of specialities, and the choice of food is different from standard Indian restaurants. We've tried the 'Sin' free menu and it was really nice. £9.95 for 3 courses (one of which is rice). Food was great but not sure how sin free it actually was. Just a note to other visitors.... More

My girlfriend and I went to cafe Bangla for a meal. 4 course special meal deal. Rice or nan bread is not a main meal. Any way the meal came and looked nice but had little flavour. also my partner commented on the lack of meat. You could say it was a meat surprise...surprise no meat. Cafe Bangla used to... More

Decided to give Cafe Bangla a try as we got a flier through the door and I was intrigued by the 'sin free' healthy choice menu. We ordered our food & a couple of glasses of diet coke. My hubby opted for the £10.95 menu, starter, main course, side and nan bread. Mine was £9.95 for a 2 course healthy... More

Visited here for the first time last night, using a Dinedout voucher. On entering, the interior was very chilly so I asked if the heating could be put on; it was - for less than 5 minutes, then switched off again. There were only 11 people (including us) in the small restaurant, so it lacked atmosphere and body heat! The... More

Visited here last Friday as a group of 13 with friends. Had heard it was very good but so disappointed. The place completely lacks any atmosphere. You take your own alcohol which is fine but we still waited ages to get a bottle opener. I noticed some tables had been offered wine coolers but we weren't. We all had starters,... More
