My wife and I went to this restaurant based on the reviews on this site and were not disappointed. The food was simply out of this world, we had the duck pancakes, chilli prawns, spicy whole seabass with pak choi and rice. Every dish was mouth watering. This is very traditional food, and not your typical UK Chinese restaurant.

Visited this small Chinese restaurant whilst staying in Newcastle on business. Came across it whilst having a walk around. Really tasty food, great ambience, friendly staff and even the house white was tasty! The colleague I was dining with even suggested it was the best Chinese he'd eaten at. Would definitely recommend a trip to this place, it won't disappoint.

Visited with a colleague. Both meals were excellent and service was friendly and efficient. It will definitely be on my shortlist if I'm in the area again.

Just ordered takeaway for myself and work colleges from here. We used the website menu under the 12-2pm happy hour lunch time special however when we got there we were charged full price which was quite a significant increase. I showed the staff the menu I had used online but they still persisted that it was now full price at... More

Ate here with two colleagues and was a bit disappointed after a good starter. The ribs I had to start with were very nice indeed. However, the main course of Chongqin chicken with chilli was dry and served without a sauce. I found this to be extremely salty and very spicy. I thought there would have been a sauce on... More

I went alone and early, and the restaurant was quiet. I had the massively gratifying luxury of just being able to take a chance on my gut reaction to this empty, unknown-to-me restaurant, only reading up reviews after I'd ordered. The comments suggested that all would be fine, and indeed it was. The food was authentic and fabulous, the staff... More

I was in Newcastle for several weeks and armed with my per diem from my company I was determined to find some authentic Chinese food in Newcastle. Thank goodness I found Hei Hei. Here I was very pleasantly surprised to find Sihuan, Henan Dongbei and even Wuhan dishes on the menu, in addition to the usual Cantonese stuff you get.... More

Went for an evening meal on a Wednesday. It was my first visit and although the interior could do with a polish the food was great. We had steamed prawns in their shells topped with garlic on glass noodles, crispy seaweed, salt and pepper king prawns, stir fried Szechwan beef & pak choi side dish. Service was quick and the... Popped in here on a date with my wife after a few post work Friday night drinks. Seated quickly but took a long time for anyone to take our drinks order, as well as the drinks arriving. Finally ordered our food after some deliberation over a large menu with so many delicious options to choose from Went for a spicy... More
