Been here 5 or 6 times over the years and absolutely loved this place - has always been a solid 4 star place for me. The service, atmosphere, friendliness, and prices have always brilliant - wholly worthy of four stars. This time however I was just a little disapoointed in my four cheese pizza - the base was uninspiring and... More

We visited for the first time to try another of the Italian restaurants in Jesmond. We ordered a shrimp starter, which was OK. For our main course we had pizza and cannelloni. The pizza looked old and reheated. The cannelloni looked good at first sight and the sauce tasted fine, but the deeper I dug into the cannelloni the more... More

Been coming to Frankies for 29 years now and the food is still tremendous. Don't mind queuing as we have a bottle of wine while we wait, very relaxed. Prices are so reasonable & the portions are big!! So beware if you have a starter too. Waitors always lovely and service has always been superb. Lucky to have this restaurant... More

I used to visit this place around 10 years ago as a place to grab a great pizza after a cold beer in Jesmond. After shopping for the morning in Newcastle I thought I would take my wife and two girls, telling them it was one of my favourites. It did not disappoint. We shared two starters ( AMAZING Calamari... I came here with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Food was cooked to perfection and service was attentive and polite. It filled up quickly so I would advise to book in advance to save disappointment! Overall this is one of my favourite Italians

We stumbled upon this restaurant in our guide. Came in early to avoid queue but restaurant was already crowed. The food (we both chose a pizza) was amazing, especialy since it comes at such a low prize. Atmosphere and service is also top notch.

I have been coming to Francesca's for about 30 years and I still go back as I have not found an Italian restaurant that betters it. The atmosphere is great, the food is brilliant and excellent value. Whether you go at lunchtime or evening it is a brilliant experience. Don't be put off by having to queue make it part... More

I arrived at 7:15 on a Wednesday evening to be met by a queue of 25+ people waiting for a table. I was surprised that it was so popular, midweek. After about an hour we got a table. Service was quick and efficient. My Frito Misto ( fried seafood) was a taste of the Med, but the seafood Risotto was... More
