Quiet drink

The bar itself was quite small for the size of the hotel and lacked a bit of atmosphere but was ideal for winding down at the end of the night

my daughter and i went for afternoon tea in february 2015( meant to be a birthday treat), sandwiches consisted of egg mayo on brown bread or ham and tomato on white (no choice), the bread wasn't even fresh! i had a strawberry tart which had jam on the bottom and no fresh cream, tasted like yogurt - wasn't impressed at... Called in for a drink after travelling back so handy for the station! Was quite busy when first arrived was served promptly biggest let down was the fact the toilets had no paper! Yes even gents need paper!!! Two visits and wasn't resolved despite mentioning it! Then they put the football on at full blast!! Why? For the staff benefit... More

The food was well prepared and tasty. As I was a hotel guest it was an additional £10 only and was certainly worth it. I had scallops to start followed by fish and then bailey's cheesecake. All very tasty for the cost and well presented

Being the only member of the family not working on 'the day' I decided to take my mam into Newcastle with a view... More

Good service; accurate billing back to the room. Nothing sets the world on fire! A wide range of spirits and a reasonable selection of "cooking" commercial beers. Very useful if you don't fancy leaving the hotel on a cold, stormy night.

Service wasn't great to be honest, wasn't much of an atmosphere. Friday and Saturday night completely empty. Ok for a quick drink before bed I suppose.

Slow service, but if visiting for a night cap before bed and fancying a little snack as well, you could do a lot worse than drop in to the Rendezvous bar. If you can get a comfortable seat by the window, and simply want to unwind at the end of a long and maybe difficult day, you'll find the snacks... More
