Went here with my partner on a Friday evening. We didn't have a reservation but the quayside was a bit quiet that night. I had tiger prawns, beautiful, succulent and the chilli sauce packs some heat. Then I had a massaman curry, it was creamy, and had depth. We had the white wine that had a hint of lemongrass, that... More

I ate here alone whilst on a business trip to Newcastle. I was seated immediately and the young front of house went out of his way to ensure I was ok and well looked after. All staff were charming and friendly. A shame that the same could not be said for the obnoxious pair of business types on the next... More

We visited this whilst in Newcastle after reading the reviews on here. It was pretty busy but we were seated in no time and offered drinks. The menu offered a great range and we were really spoilt for choice. After we had ordered our food arrived after a reasonable time and I have to say it did not disappoint. I... More

Had a lovely meal here. Great food. I had yellow curry and it was fab. They do cram the tables in so did feel like I was having dinner with two other two tables on either side of us.

I took my Dad to Old Siam recently to celebrate his birthday as he had enjoyed his last visit so much so we were all really disappointed that it seems to have gone downhill. The bathroom was manky, really not very clean at all, and the stairs and corridor also needed a good clean. The service was good and the... More

I was staying in a nearby hotel for a conference and after a long train journey as soon as I lay on the bed I really didn't fancy going out on a chilly night on my own but I'm glad I did. With a choice of room service or eating out I checked out TA for well rated restaurants within... More

Having been to lots of Thai restaurants in the UK and been disappointed I wasn't expecting too much despite the good reviews on TA. However I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Given that some ingredients for proper Thai food are impossible to get in the UK then this was pretty authentic. The only disappointment was... More

Having read so many good reviews, we dined at Old Siam expecting something rather special. Perhaps we expected too much. True, the ambiance was pleasant and the staff were charming. The menu was extensive albeit with a rather limited wine list. Our Tom Yam soup was nicely flavoured with plenty of prawns, but I was a bit surprised to find... More
