My favourite restaurant in Newcastle

Me and my girlfriend have been eating here since the beginning of our relationship. The food is always delicious. Don't be fooled by 'downstairs', there is a larger room upstairs which i would recommend if you haven't eaten here before. The staff are are all lovely and are very polite and... read more

If this had been the first time that I had eaten Thai food, i would have gone away with the impression that I did not like it. On entering I thought the restaurant had a stale smell and I found the food that I ordered did not taste fresh. Normally I like Thai food and I have visited plenty of... More

Without a doubt the best Thai restaurant in Newcastle. This time I opted to collect a takeaway when I was passing and it was beautiful. The restaurant was very busy, it's defiantly worth a try, takeaway or eat in, you certainly won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a table over the weekend boom in advance.

Very nice restaurant, just off the quayside under the bridge. Good welcome and pleasant surroundings. Staff very attentive and were very very helpful when one of the party had dietary requirements. They worked hard to ensure all was understood. Good menu and also a very good lunchtime menu which was very well priced. Well worth a visit. Also do a... More

We didn't eat in the restaurant last night, I bought some take out from here instead as a treat for the wife who has just gone on Mat leave. We wanted to get something high end, but didn't have child care sorted. Make no mistake, this is not your typical take out meal, it's top quality food to go. When... More

I had been asking my girlfriend for some weeks now where she wanted to be taken out for a birthday meal. After asking around friends for recommendations, she decided on Old Siam. Seemed ideal; we'd not heard of old Siam before and neither of us had tried Thai food before so we approached it with hopeful anticipation. We were not... More

Wonderful Thai restaurant serving divine, tasty food which was some of the best Thai food I've tasted outside of Thailand. Service was great, prices reasonable and this quirky restaurant fully deserves its' 5 stars from this reviewer. Clean toilets too. Faultless and thoroughly recommended. Make sure you book as it gets busy.

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at The Old Siam last night. We had the platter to start, sea bass in red curry sauce, king prawn pad thai and coconut rice. Finishing off with banana fritters the meal was spot on as was the service. The restaurant is cosy and we had a good view of the chaos... More
