Visited whilst in Newcastle, we chose this restaurant based on the trip advisor reviews and the menu looked great. Myself and my partner are massive foodies so we do have high standards. This was the best meal we have eaten out in a long time if ever! Everything was tantalisingly tasty and perfectly cooked. The service was fantastic and the... More

Went for lunch with my wife and two children (3 yr old and 1 yr old). Amazing food and friendly service. Kids loved it too. Can't wait to go back.

Have had great meals in Mark Lagun's previous restaurants in Newcastle starting with Barn Again but did not realise that he was involved with Electric East or I would have visited before. The staff are always friendly, the decor unusual and the food always excellent. The location is slightly away from the city centre which means you have to seek... More

Newcastle has oodles of run-of-the-mill restaurants of numerous cuisines, it also has a vibrant and growing Chinatown however we have always been well short compared to other English cities of South East Asian restaurants especially Thai and Vietnamese. I have never ventured into Electric East before but decided on a takeaway recommended by a friend and wow! Very, very, nice... More

It's a long time since I visited Electric East (under its previous incarnation) and once we'd dined here I was at a loss to know why. This is an absolute gem, with its quirky, eclectic interior and imaginative menu. We ordered a range of tapas starters to start (apart from my miso soup which I kept for myself) and all... More

This is a hidden gem in Newcastle. Great food and fantastic service. There is a choice of tapas to share and main menu dishes with the Asian influence. The decor is quirky and the team make you feel right at home. I've been for a meal with friends, a meal with colleagues and a quick beer while passing through and... More

I do not claim to be an expert on Vietnamese food but this was my third visit to this restaurant and I will not hesitate to return. This is a laid back informal restaurant with excellent friendly service. The food itself was utterly delicious, spicy but not too hot and with excellent quality ingredients. It is worth going along for... More

What a great place this is! Not set in the most glamorous of settings, but, in a way, that only made it feel more 'authentic'... We were there early as we were going to the theatre. the staff were very warm, welcoming and friendly - service excellent! The food was absolutely sublime! so fresh and tasty. Really took us back to... More

I had a meal here with three colleagues. We all had three tapas starters and a small main. It was delicious. Thai rice balls, sweet chicken, noodles and praun nasi Menak. It was all tasty.
