No bookings for two in the run up to Christmas. Why? Turnover is brisk so just wait 20 minutes and a table will probably become available. Oh goody! We are two 67 year old women who shouldn't be asked to stand around; cool hipsters we may have been in the 1960s but now the hip joints suffer from too much... More

Yeah, it was a Friday I could call it a mad Friday. We've ordered fish&chips and waited about 25 min (it was busy). Plates looked nice maybe not enough chips on them, we had to "borrow" mayonesse from another table after they left. Staff.... wearing walkie talkies, interesting thing was that after our table was cleared somebody from the management... More

Stopped here for some lunch really nice atmosphere in this weatherspoons. Half a roast chicken (peri peri style) and a pint of Guinness £7.95 can't be robbed for that . Lot of rooms with a good vibe. it's situated around the student area of Newcastle so always buzzing. Definitely eat here again.

Large Wetherspoons which has typically retained the character of the original building. Very busy on a Saturday and had to queue for the bar. Food good and also returned for breakfast the following day. Does what it says on the tin, cheap satisfying food and excellent real ales.

Came across this pub whilst strolling around Newcastle. At the top end of town it attracts a different clientel . Had a pint of guest ale then spotted a menu for a burger and pint for £6 . I asked the barman and he changed my order accordingly It is a witherspoons and a good one at that ... I... More

Met a friend for a drink and light dinner. We both had jacket potato with chilli and salad. Two meals for £7.49. Thoroughly enjoyed it the potato was so fluffy. I would recommend this restaurant, everything is well cooked and presented. It is much better than the Wetherspoons at Cramlington.

Have been here many times and have always found it to be one of the best Wetherspoon pubs in the area. The food and drinks are good value . The food is standard Wetherspoon and is always served fairly quickly. It is well placed for both shoppers and others being close to Northumberland Street and the Haymarket.

I visited this pub yesterday with my daughter! The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly. Food was hot and potion sizes although small were adequate for the price paid! The service from staff was prompt! If your looking for cheap food and drinks then look no further than The Five Swans.

After graduating, I will certainly miss the five swans as it became quite the hangout! Drinks = cheap, food = cheap and good value. Sometimes, the food is a bit overcooked and on busy days, a bit cold. Nonetheless, it's good value for what you get and a really good size. The service is absolutely fabulous! Food is quick and...
