First time visit

We hadn't been to a Lebanese restaurant before this visit, I had booked a table as a surprise. It was a Saturday evening and the place was very busy indeed, we had arrived early but we were shown to our table very quickly. As it was our first visit we ordered two £15.00 Mezas which consisted of... read more

We went on a Saturday night and were packed in like sardines, the food was literally thrown on the table with no courtesy or manners. We chose the set menu at £15 per head, it was very uninspiring! It maybe better during the week when it is less busy but we left feeling relieved to get out of the place.

Used to be fantastic when it first opened. The decor changed, packed more tables and opened a branch and the food suffered massively

This was a spur of the moment decision as I had been heading home from a busy week down south, when I had to attend to an issue in Byker. By the time I was finished, I was famished and opted against the natural quick hunger fix places. Having read some reviews on here and the fact it was across... More

Booked a table for 2 for Saturday night @ 1900. It was busy and full of people enjoying their food. Tables are very close together and this is an unlicensed place so take your own alcohol. Food was amazing. The Arabic bread was soft and warm and the hummus is to die for. Sambousek cheese was delicious. The mixed shawarma... More

Went on a very busy Friday night before Xmas. Need to book in advance as the place was very busy. Also you need to bring your own alcoholic drinks which I think is great. The staff are very friendly and efficient and will provide glasses and jugs of iced water. The food is different but tasty and plentiful. We went... More

I've been frequenting Albaik now since it opened 3 years ago. The restaurant has got better and better. The management take great pride in the quality of the food and service and anyone saying they have bad service or food are either used to paying £70 per head in a posh nosh place which really would not compare or simply... It's undeniable that it's a cheap night out since it's bring your own bottle & the menu isn't expensive, but overall the food isn't great. We opted for the £20 a head banquet to enable us to try lots of dishes & there were some real gems like the minced lamb in thin pastry but the majority were kebab style... More
