Great food

Have heard lots of good reports so finally got to go along. Early Sunday evening, it was nice and quiet. Decor is cheap and cheerful, though bright and clean. We ordered mixed platters, and got a huge variety of fresh, tasty food. All delicious. Massive portions. We couldn't finish. Will definitely... read more

As lovers of Lebanese food since our first visit to Beirut almost 20 years ago we’ve been delighted with the plethora of Lebanese restaurants that have opened in Newcastle in recent years, albeit they are all owned and managed by Syrians, Iraqis and Turks. Mrs Wanderer insisted we try somewhere other than our favourite Lebanese restaurant so we headed to... More

My Wife and I, dined at The Bake yesterday evening. It was our first visit The experience was without fault from start to finish. The staff were very attentive and very cleanly dressed. When we asked about the different foods all was explained easy and simply. The food and choice was outstanding quite the best we have experienced in a... More

Albaik does great Lebanese food full of flavour. The restaurant is always packed on a weekend and has a vibrant atmosphere (you may have to wait awhile if you haven't booked a table which I highly recommend). I've always gone for the £15, £20 Or £25 chef's choice menu which is fantastic value for money and highly authentic. You get... More

Another lovely meal in one of my favourite local restaurants. It does get busy now that it's reputation has spread but we went early and it was quite quiet. Very child friendly.

Visited with a group of 14 work colleagues. Eating here is a bit like visiting a busy street market food stall. Food is plentiful (set menu option) cheap, served fast and in a nosy environment. If you expect that and are ok with it then you'll enjoy the visit. If you are looking for a nice Lebanese restaurant meal then... More

We both selected mixed lamb kebab with vermicelli rice. The portions are large, the lamb a mixture of swarma, kofteh and grilled cubes came with salad, chilli and garlic dip as well generous portions of flatbread. Very tasty, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere busy. It does get quite noisy, but this adds to the experience- we have... More

This is an extremely busy venue, full of mostly young people, and very noisy. We waited 20 minutes before sitting down, despite having booked for 8.30. The food was interesting, but the low prices are reflected in the quality of the meat. You do get a huge amount of food, probably too much. You won't leave hungry! Our waitress was... More
