Been here twice before when it was called Albaik, it was always excellent. This time we went on a Saturday afternoon with our two freinds and went for the £20 quid a head selection for which you get a selection of the chefs choice. The first course was fantastic, with little selections of dips and pastries , delicious. When the... More

Having lived in the Middle East for 25 years I never expected to get traditional ME cuisine in Byker. Great food, good service and we took our own wine as it is not a licensed restaurant so the evening was complete. Looks nothing from the outside but is everything from the inside

Best Lebanese in Newcastle. Quality food with excellent service. We are regular visitors for sit in and takeaway. Albaik is about a 15 minute walk from Newcastle city centre (5 mins in a taxi) and worth the extra effort if your in town. The food is excellent and staff always friendly and cannot do enough for you. Prices are very... More

One of my favourite restaurants cheap & cheerful but with food which is so tasty & excellent value for money. Several of my friend are veggie so we opted for a selection of mezze dishes too many to mention to share. Stand out items were the tabbouleh, the bata harra, moussaka & the hot salad. As always the food was... More

Once again we have enjoyed taking friends for their first time to Al Baik. They were as impressed with the experience as we have always been whether we've gone as a couple or with a family birthday group of many. Its always preferable to book and table bookings are handled efficiently unlike some of the Italian restaurants in the vicinity.... More

Me and a few friends had dinner at Albaik now known as The Bake as we were at a nearby ale festival and after some food to soak up the alcohol. I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time and it did not disappoint. The dishes on offer are ideal for sharing so the table went for... More

Disappointing experience at Al Baik Byker, or the Bake as it is now known. Food was nice enough but not worth the price any more - this used to be average priced before but the atmosphere, friendly service and fantastic flatbread used to make the visit worth it nevertheless. Place lacked atmosphere and is certainly less clean than it used... More

Second time visiting - this place is always packed so book a table. We have got the dinner deal both times because You get a mix of everything. We always opt for the £15 as I don't like fish - the starters are amazing with a mix of savoury pastry filled with feta, spinach or a mince mixture, hummus and... More

Bring your own drinks and order the platter. So much choice and anything charcoaled is excellent (seabass). The staff dont over intrude and this establishment offers something a bit different in the Lebenese style but still some safe homemade kebab options. I would also recommend their takeaway service
