Never been here before and wouldn't go back. You are crammed in like sardines, I had visited with a small child and there were no changing facilities at all. Food was poor and sun standard, some of our guests hadn't received their meal by the time we had finished ours. Services was horrendous. Came away very disappointed and starving.

Have passed this restaurant many times but have not been in, if i'm honest probably where it is located, next to Byker wall. Called in for dinner on Monday night and what a surprise, the decor was basic, however big open kitchen which looked very clean. The service was very attentive and the food served was tasty and the portions... More

This is a great BYOB place.....simple but delicious food.....great venue for long summer evenings as there are tables outside.....popular so book ahead! The outside decor may not look much but don't let this fool you.....it is well worth a visit. There are great pubs nearby for afters!

Have been to the albaik a few times now (so it cant be that bad!!) always get the sharing platter (£25 ish) and share between 2 or 3 people. Its always well presented and fast to arrive! And good that you can bring your own drinks too... Would recommend this place for when youve had a few drinks in ouseburn... More

Been here about four times and had quite a few takeaways; would rate the food above the five stars offered. Service is excellent. It is extremely busy and staff are rushed off their feet because it is so popular, which does mean that unfortunately it isn't the best atmosphere for an intimate, romantic meal (but if tasty food is your... I visited this restaurant for the first time last night with 2 friends for a catch up. We hadn't booked and didn't need to, however the restaurant really filled up during the night time. It doesn't have a licence for alcohol, so take your own. (They don't charge corkage either!) We ordered a few dishes from the starters and made... More

We visited at lunchtime after a rave review from friends who had been there in the evening. The place was quietish but the food was very very good and amongst the best middle-eastern grub I have tasted both in the UK and over there. The fatoosh was very crisp fresh and lemony, the hot mixed mezze; lamb and hummus very... More

Very popular ,however, not good value!, even the bread was dry and crispy, the lamb was terribly over cooked as was every other meat on my plate. Staff very polite however Price wasn't good deal, two of us, one starter, one main £47 no alchohol or drinks , & bearing in mind this place is in the roughest part of... More

Food very nice. However, service and communication was poor. We were herded in like cattle, a table of 5 squeezed round a tiny table for 4 and an adjoining table with another party sitting at it very close by. It was very claustrophobic, and a hot evening which meant it was very uncomfortable. I really liked that it was BYOB,... More
