What a cool place to eat and something a little different. It's bring you own booze too which is always an attractive option to avoid restaurant wine prices, and its just outside the city centre but it is still very busy showing its popularity. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday on recommendation from her brother as one of... More

Warm welcome, relaxed yet busy atmosphere, delicious, fresh food, excellent service and the best hot flat bread.........mmm! A little delay in sitting for our table booked for 8.30 pm but not an issue as Wetherspoon's just around the corner; reasonable night as you take your own alcohol (or not) if you wish; Morrison's across the road if you don't know... Have been to The Bake(Al Baik) several times. Sometimes as a couple, sometimes with friends/family. It has been consistently good and we have always enjoyed the food , service and atmosphere. It is excellent value and bringing your own wine/beer makes it even better value. This last time, we had 2 of the mixed £20 meals plus a seafood platter... More

This place is great as you can see from the queue's each night. It's BYOB which I love as it makes it a cheaper night. We were stood outside with around 20 other ppl waiting to be seated with crates and bottles having a pre meal tiple when a police man turned up. Fear not tho. He was just picking up... More

I have been to this restaurant twice and thought the service/staff was excellent and the food pretty damn good. It was only as I left last time I noticed the sign outside saying only Halal meat is served here and therefore I have decided not to return. Such a shame as other than that I can't fault the place.

Albaik, now changed to The Bake (pressure from neighbours to change name?). An EXCELLENT eating experience. The service was prompt, the waiters helping to explain some of the menu options. Good to see the chefs in the open plan kitchen, gives confidence in the authenticity of the meal. Starters and mains (which 4 shared, so we could all taste the... More

I haven't visited this place for over a year, and how it has changed. We were seated opposite the door, so every time customers came in it was freezing cold. We were a party of four, but were seated at a long line of tables which were so close together they were actually touching each other. The food was ok... More

This place used to serve tasty, inexpensive food to a busy crowd, via cute and friendly waiters. Me and my friend got yesterday's cold leftovers, with a handful of boiled lamb plonked on top. It's as if they noticed I had ordered lamb just before sending out my plate. In any case, I can now recommend this restaurant if you... More
