We were at the 12-mile point of our 15-mile first day of our east-to-west Hadrian's Wall hike. The Boathouse is perfectly positioned for a well-deserved break en route. It ws a rainy first day for us. As we walked towards the Boathouse - the sun came out. We took it as a sign. The Boathouse did not disappoint.

A wonderfully friendly little pub, with great staff and dogs sleeping under the tables. We felt at home the moment we walked in. Loved the Boathouse Ale. All pubs should be as welcoming as this one.

Visited here Sunday afternoon after a lovely walk. Great to sit by the river with a constant flow of cyclists and walkers to watch. Love the flood level markers and general look of this old traditional English pub

Freindly local pub situated on the banks of the Tyne. Often visited by walkers on Hadrians Way. The service is great as at the locals.

On sunday me and my husband got back home from tunisia at 3.30pm with nothing to make a dinner with. Phoned the boathouse to see if we could have lunch but they had just stopped serving. She mentioned they did a delivery services. We ordered a chicken and a pork sunday lunch and these were delivered at 4.10pm. Thank you... More
