Food very tasty and this restaurant allows you to try different flavours with a tapas style menu. We usually eat through the day so it is usually quiet, however Thursday is 'curry night' and a large party were booked in at lunch time which made the restaurant instantly busy, and very loud, so be aware of that. Would highly recommend.

Went there with a few friends to break our fast for Ramadan and booked the table but when we got there they had given our table away to some random people and the staff thought we were joking when we said that we didn't know the people who took our table. The place is quite cramped when its full of... More

Went to Dabbawal on Saturday night as part of a group of 8, were seated in a booth table through the back -good seating for a group. Menu really big with lots of choice, being a vegetarian there was a massive choice of veggie options, which was great. I opted for a onion bhaji for starter -which was lovely, and... More

We went back here following a restraunt week visit about 3 years ago and it seemed a good venue for a birthday meal. We were keen to have the tapas but we were talked into the chefs special which was a random assortment of things but were were able to request items. The courses seemed to take forever to come... Came here after work one evening, and was impressed beyond belief. I'd been searching Newcastle for that truly wonderful authentic indian taste. I'm slowly working my way through the entire menu, price is perfect, service is perfect, taste is perfect, every single time. I returned after my first visit 2 days later with my work mates and they also fell... More

Got the special surprise once again and it was amazing! I could tell you what I was given but I know it was good... One small problem however, there was one less than happy waitress who served myself and our group water on a warm decanter. Other than the unfortunate warm water incident I was very pleased once again.

The food was great. Good sized portions and great presentation. The service however, let it down. We were served by 5 different waitresses during our meal, all asking us if we wanted drinks and if our food was okay. It seemed like it needed a floor manager to organise them into sections instead of being let to roam around the... More

I went there with some colleagues for dinner and we absolutely enjoyed. I love indian food and I must say it becomes one of my favorites here in Newcastle. The food was outstanding and extremelly good and the service was also pretty fine. I'll definitely come back.
