Still the best curry!

We have always enjoyed meals at the Dabbawal. We called in for lunch and the food was delicious. One of the best curries in Newcastle.

Advertised as Indian street food but don't be fooled into thinking this is low level fodder. It's fantastic.

My friends booked a meal here for a group of us. I hadn't even heard of it. I must admit at being sceptical when we were outside as it doesn't look much but thankfully I couldn't have been more wrong. The service was good, the food tasty and the ambience fun. My husband and I have since been back and... More

We visit Newcastle frequently but had missed this restaurant until recommended by friends. We tried to get a table on a previous occasion only to find it fully booked. Our lesson learned we booked next time. It was very evident why booking as essential as the place was packed in early evening. The menu was quite different to the usual... More

Firstly the main meals were really good. Excellent portion of rice. Service was poor. Had to ask multiple times for popadoms and mains arrived before starters had been cleared away. Staff were friendly just not efficient. I do feel this is over priced for what you get.

We visited the Highbridge restaurant, the food was lovely, however, I was very disappointed that they refused to do a child's portion of a main curry instead directing me to their tapas style menu and telling me to order the simple non spicy chicken tikka. When the tikka arrived it was too spicy for my 3 year old, so plain... More

Loved this Resturant. Amazing food everything tastes great. Had the mixed grill to start which was big enough for one. Succulent and tasty, nice and soft with a lovely dipping sauce that came with it. Comes with a nice assortment of meets all cooked very well and succulent. Had one of the chicken curries with garlic naan which was really... More

Mad service but quite interesting to watch! Brilliant Railway Curry though, the best in a long time. Drink a few beers enjoy the flawed service and have a great curry!

Despite eating in Dabbawal on quite a few occasions, I thought it time to leave a review. Staff are very friendly and serve you very quickly. Despite being a "street food" venue, the interior design is quite chic and comfortable. Food is absolutely outstanding whether it`s the "tapas" style you order or a traditional curry. The Railway Lamb is exceptional... More
