A great experience

Both my partner and I have been looking forward to getting a seat at this busy place. The fact that it's always full should be testament itself, however, the food was amazing, don't be put off by the size as I'm sure you'll be full at the end. I love hot curry and chapati and this place... read more

I’d been looking forward to going to Dabbawal for a couple of years. Despite high expectations and reading good reviews, I was hugely disappointed. We ordered from the “Chef’s surprise menu” as we couldn’t decide what we wanted. When the food was brought out we were not told what we were eating. It would have been nice to know. We... More

I've looked at a few reviews since visiting and a good few have used the word disappointing. I'd agree. The service is lacklustre and slow: we booked for 6pm and was told we'd need to be out by 7:30. No problem, right? Wrong. It was close to 8 o'clock by the time we got out. We chose the chef's surprise... More

Heard this place would be amazing...the tapa was pretty much Bombay mix with one or two bits of pomegranate. The salad was amazing. Curry was average and a small portion and found something in the nan bread that nearly broke my tooth... The chef said it was a seed (not convinced but maybe) and we didn't have to pay for... More

Lots of people recommended Dabbawal, so perhaps high expectations skewed my experience. However I would not recommend for a special occasion as it's more a drinks after work/meal before theatre (if you get there hours ahead!) type of place. The tables were cramped, the fake leather seats felt sweaty. Service was slow, arthritic snail slow. The food was edible, couldn't... More

Went for a birthday meal which was booked at least a month in advance when we arrived our booking could not be found even though we had email confirmation. We were eventually put in a cramped table. The service was really really slow we went for the chefs surprise - 21.00 . Very very disappointed as this had been highly... More

Just fantastic food! Loved all of it! A bit different to normal - just have a curry night. We had 4 starters and 1 curry. All of it was amazing, left very full! Was £50 so not cheap - but being that nice and differerent it was worth it. Was VERY bust 5:30-6pm on Sat night - so best to... More

A group of 7 friends ate here last night- all thoroughly enjoying our food. All dishes seemed to be freshly prepared rather than reheated and dry, with no excess oil or staleness at all (especially the poppadoms, often sadly a neglected item). The service was mostly friendly and efficient, especially impressive given how busy it was during the evening. The... More

Very good menu, for evening dining or lighter day time lunch. The wraps are lovely. Well worth a visit.
