Decent food.

Food was quite good. Service a little slow. The draft soft drinks are poor. Also, the waiter tried to take our card away due to no signal for payment machine. That wasn't happening, so beware.

Had some great, unusual dishes at Rani , including duck with tamarind which was delicious. Fair price for lovely food.

Came upon this place when looking for a restaurant. Was recommended by locals as there a few Indian restaurant in the area. The restaurant was quiet as it was early evening. Clean and comfortable place. Drink order taken quickly. Extensive menu but settled on set meal for six. Poppadoms and dips, platters to share and basically any curry on the... More

Went here after a recent Foo Fighters gig around midnight on a Bank Holiday Monday. Didn't think it was open at first but went in and was made very welcome. Should say that I was completely sober too! My wife and I both had the same dish, can't remember the exact name but it was the chicken with paneer and... More

True, I arrived relatively late (around 10 pm) and I was on my own. But for a restaurant that claims they are open 5.30 pm until Midnight 7 days-a-week, I think I deserved better than to hear the waiter snobbily say they were without tables. It would have taken someone perhaps two minutes to prepare one of the numerous empty... More

After 32km charity walk across the pennines, all we wanted was a decent ruby and a beer. As we were staying in the premier we didn't want too walk far, 125m up the road was ideal. I did have TripAdvisor at my disposal to help make the choice and agree with all the positive reviews, the food, service and value... More
