Stylish and tasty

Visited this evening, with family. Nice welcome, spotless linen and beautiful table setting. Not everyone liked pink roses though, saw a few men who were in groups moving them.....winter evening so would have been better to have our coats taken at the door....other establishments can do this and... read more

Having eaten at Indian restaurants around the country, Rani serves the best Chicken Tikka Masala and has become our regular. The menu is large and we have never been disappointed with the quality or quantity of our choice of food - flavoursome and plenty of it every time! We've brought family and friends along and they've shared our enthusiasm. The... More

So 'Baltic' in this restaurant the waiter had to stand over the heater between serving !! On a table of 9 and I would sum it up as follows:- We had the set meals which consisted of mixed starters of onion bhaji and spiced chicken. I would describe these as being average. For my main meal I had King prawns... More

If you like Indian food this place is a 'must visit. We dined there yesterday evening and were really impressed by the quality of the food and efficient but discreet service. My king prawn Rogan was superb. Well worth a visit.

Arrived without booking on Boxing Day evening. They took us to the table immediately. Although the restaurant was unusually quiet we received excellent service and the most important - the food was also excellent. Will definitely return when visiting Newcastle. I cannot understand why it is not much higher in the T.A rankings.

We ate at the Rani at the end of a night out and they were really friendly and accommodating of our slightly tipsy giggling! The food as amazing. I am a veggie and they made a mushroom on puree for starter although other was not on the menu. The vegetable half review was absolutely delicious. I took half home and... More

After a disappointing booking with another Indian restaurant, my partner and I visited this place. Food was absolutely amazing and the flavours were something which I haven't experienced for a long time. Lovely meal and not too salty (like many other restaurants). Definitely recommend this place

Visited this restaurant for the first time with another couple on Saturday night for a rare night out. ( I booked it based on TA reviews) Upon arrival my husband ordered 4 drinks - 3 beers and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc from the barman. During our meal, I finished the glass of wine and attempted to order another! The... More

Hi, Thank you for your review! I can only apologise for any difficulties that you had dining with us. We can recall that you had first ordered a glass of Jean Paul Wine which we sell by the glass. As for the Sauvignon Blanc, we have never sold that by the glass and maybe this was a miscommunication issue? We... More
