Enjoy a unique blend of Japanese cuisine and oriental culture here in Newcastle set in an atmosphere that captures the very essence of Japan ... It is called the Fujiyama Experience. The Fujiyama Teppan - Yaki Restaurant is the perfect venue whether you are entertaining clients you need to impress or to celebrate one of those special occasions such as such a birthday or a hen/stag night All our customers have their own highly trained personal chef for the duration of the meal. Once you are taken to your table, the raw ingredients of your meal will shortly arrive and the chef will prepare and cook your meal on the hotplate surface, right in front of you. The food is delivered to you sizzling hot and fresh. Our menu is extensive, accommodating for both carnivores and herbivores and is mouth watering. Many of our customers opt for one of our set banquets which are perfectly compiled to leave a pleasant feeling of satisfaction, not too much and not too little. Alternatively you may wish to customise and create you own meal by selecting starters from the appetisers menu and main courses from the ala carte menu, and some may even brave it to our sushi page.

Food and a show

Went to Fujiyama with parents, husband and best friend and were told upon entry that they part of the ceiling had essentially fallen down and were advised that we could be waiting a long time. We tried to find somewhere similiar to eat but everywhere was fully booked so we just decided to wait. We... read more

I had experienced Teppanyaki in Canada and London and wanted my friends to try it too. On a few days break to Newcastle we took the opportunity to have a night out at Fujiyama as it was well rated and there were only a couple to choose from. First impressions from the outside were that it looked a bit quiet,... More

What a hoot! Great Japanese food cooked at a hot plate in front of you followed by the chef showing off his juggling skills - with eggs! A pity they've stopped using raw ones (which the guests could try to flip into a chef's hat) but good fun all the same.

What a great place if you want something a bit different, all the food is cooked infront of you and the chef has some great interaction with the customers

went here on a sunday night in December for my sisters birthday. We had a set menu from the christmas set meals, everyone in our group enjoyed it and the chef as very funny and provided some entertainment. I would certainly go back with another group but not sure if I would go just in a couple

We visited for my sister's birthday with a large family group. We've recently been to Hana Hana and I have to say that in comparison, fujiyama wins hands down. The chef was fantastic! Did such an amazing job of entertaining us, and made the whole experience very interactive. The food was spectacular (as long as you like garlic... And ice-cream... More

Even though we had booked a table, we still had to wait 45 minutes. Food was generally bland and plain but seeing it cooked in front of you was entertaining but not worth the price per head we paid. Won't be going back.

We visited Fuliyama on Friday night. When handed the menu it only had the Christmas menu in. We asked if we could have the Royale hot banquet which was on the website and we were allowed but it doesn't state online that only the Christmas menu is available during December. The chef was entertaining and the food was really tasty,... More

Fujiyama restaurant is a really entertaining place to have dinner on in between friends. The food is top notch and the staff is really friendly. The attraction of this restaurant is the food for a start but also the show provided by the chefs just in front of you making everybody participate in games and cooking the food. This is... More

My second time here. We had the place to ourselves. The food is amazing my words wont do it justice at all. I'm salivating whist I'm writing this thinking about the food I had last night. We had the Royale set banquet and I would recommend it.
