I ordered potato skins, garlic naan and king prawn karahi. The karahi dish was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the service was so poor I probably wouldn't return. It wasn't even short staffed and with only two tables in at the time, the waiters and waitresses shouldn't even have any excuse. They were hanging around at the bar chatting and on their... More

A short review: The atmosphere was very strange. Weird choice of furniture. Loud music. We were seated next to a very large group which was very noisy - understandable since they were trying to talk across a long table and against the music. The food was medicore. I had a paneer dish, my partner had a lamb dish, both with... More

The service was fantastic we never felt rushed or hassled but there was always a waiter when we needed him. The menu had a wide choice of dishes to chose from with something for everyone. The dishes were well presented, portions were large and full of flavour. Would recommend to anyone with a love of genuine Indian Food.

We went purely from what we'd read on here. We made the 15 minute uphill walk from the city centre and to be honest weren't sure what we were going to get in return but from the second we arrived we were delighted. Firstly from the friendly reception and attentiveness to our needs with the ordering etc and then the... More

Visited this place often, since it first opened, and if you know what home cooked indian food tastes like, its one of the best traditional indian eateries in Newcastle. For starters the mix grill is fabulous, 2 tender/soft juicy marinated tandoori lamb chops, two freshly cooked sheek kebabs one made with chicken mince, the other with lamb mince, and then... More

Just been here based on the trip advisor reviews. Comfortably one of the best curry restaurants Ive ever been to. Beautiful surroundings, great service and food was fantastic. The starters were some of the best I've had, the only slight criticism I had was that the curry was slightly too oily but please go. Ignore the negative reviews and see... More

Newcastle is still a bit of a a desert for good Indian food, but this was a true oasis. Odd site and name ( is it Japanese / Italian / Indian) but food and service excellent. Some unusual lamb and other dishes as well as the usual favourites. Large portions, clever spice mixes and very pleasant staff. For four of... More

no cons all pros, amazing menu, a lot of different obscure in a good way choices, great value portion to price ratio, but still so many good flavours, waiter offered really good knowledge about the dishes. So I was able to try something I have never had before. Well done more of the same please.

I have visited Luigikhan's several times now, the food and service are excellent. As far as I am concerned there is no better place in Newcastle for a Balti that is brimming with flavor and full of fresh herbs and spices. I will be back, as someone once said. :-)
