Great Italian cafe! Excellent food, value and service

Recently moved back to the area and had read reviews and we'd walked past when we were out walking from Ouseburn a few days before. It definitely has a cafe feel rather than a restaurant and not pretentious in it's furnishings or atmosphere, which we like unless it's a very special occasion... read more

This very affordable cafe offers a choice of pasta dishes, pizza, salads, and homemade desserts. Lorenzo does everything. He is welcoming, but without overdoing the professional Italian bit. He just lets you enjoy your meal, whether you are by yourself, or with friends and family. It is basic, but that is a plus, as it is relaxed and informal. It... More

Probably Sandyford's best kept secret - A no frills little Italian restaurant serving all your favourite pizzas and pastas. The tiramisu was amazing. A tip though - I think they reheat up some of the food after you place your orders, but you can see from the counter. So if you want it freshly made, choose a pizza or something... More

I first went here with my Godparents a few years ago, as we wanted a catchup over a meal and their son worked in Sapori. I ordered a three course meal - a garlic bread (which they do with pine nuts - it's so good!), gambaretti pasta (which, for years since, I've found myself craving?!) and amaretti ice cream to... Me and my friend went to Sapori for lunch. The place was very busy. The lovely owener made us feel very welcome. From the special I was advise I can have half and half to try the pasta. I went for the crab meat ravioli and half a goat cheese pasta. My friend went for spicy chicken with penne pasta.... More

Needing somewhere for a latte for me and a late lunch for my 18 year old son, I didn't have high hopes of finding anywhere convenient with good latte and food. But I spotted this lovely Sapori Cafe and easily found a free parking space among all the Permit Only Parking and decided to give it a go. There were... More

To explain just how amazing Sapori is I would like to state for the record that I have pretty much ran home to write this review....which on a stomach full of hearty Italian food is not fun. I never score places full marks because it's impossible to get everything right— Sapori Cafe achieved the impossible tonight. Don't be put off... More

Third time I have visited and each time had the pizza, this time was calzone, tastes of Italy unlike the messed around deep pan, stuffed crust, over filled UK/USA versions elsewhere. Verdict is excellent and if you want to taste real Italian food, sensibly priced, this is it.
