I visited a while ago and have it on good authority it hasn't changed drastically. While aw always quite on my visits it has never disappointed me the way some of the other reviews suggest. If it has stopped trading I will be sorry to see a nice restaurant with quality English food leaving the quayside.

Heard this place has closed down now. Not surprised at all. Food was dreadful. It had clearly been heated up in a microwave which is un-acceptable. I do hope the chef has not stayed in the same line of work, as I think he would be better suited to microwave oven tester or maybe binman, as a lot of the... More

We all liked the menu - the sense of Newcastle cooking that was tasty and hearty loved the menu. It was unnervingly quiet but I hope the sense of tradition and local cooking done in a modern style continues.

Whenever I visit this restaurant the food is always delicious and well presented. They offer an excellent early bird special too. If you love crumble this is the place to order it! It's a shame to hear administrators have stepped in.

We have enjoyed many excellent lunches here over the years and were extremely sorry to hear Pan Haggerty closed a couple of weeks ago. Can only assume that the recent poor reviews were immediately prior to closure. It is a sad reflection on how difficult the restaurant business can be when a normally great place like this needs to close!... More

We got the impression of a closing business on the Saturday night we dined here - on arrival we were told that they couldn't accept credit card (a problem with the machine apparently - didn't believe that story!); with no advanced notice of this we had to adapt our menu choices to the cash we had on us! The food... More

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch hear as usual, my Red Snapper starter was the most beautiful fish dish I had ever tasted, it was so gorgeous, it was certainly compliments to the chef..... My husband had the Black pudding he loved his dish too, this was followed by Roast Belly of Pork cooked to perfection crispy crackling and juicy... More

Had heard good things..... and been there a couple of years ago, but wouldn't repeat the experience. We went on a Friday evening for an anniversary meal. The menu was uninspiring, the pan haggerty starter was dense and tasteless. This was followed by very average steaks with what tasted like shop bought sauce. Not inedible, but couldn't recommend this restaurant... More
