We had wanted to try Vietnamese food for a while (there seem to be lots of new Vietnamese restaurants opening up throughout Europe and the UK) and decided we would go on a Sunday night. First impressions of the restaurant were great (especially the fact that it was almost empty), but the service was very slow. We ordered the 'greedy'... More

Myself, my Wife and a couple of friends visited here tonight. Compared with the totally amazing Vietnamese Pancakes for starter, the main courses were a little bit of an overpriced disappointment (but still very tasty, I had the Monkfish & Lemongrass and shared my Wife's Seafood Sizzler) as they were not presented (and as big portion) as well as the... Great service very friendly from "John" and "Jaimie" (you should keep you real names ;). Food was just like in Saigon. Everything was just perfect. Lovely experience if I come back to Newcastle again this will be my cantina :)

I'm gutted to write this review, and never thought I would have to...... New owners? Cost cutting?? I hope there's a valid reason for the dip in quality at this place. Having visited Little Saigon on numerous occasions I was looking forward to the first visit in about 18 months. Unfortunately it was a disappointment from starter to main. 2... More

Hi Mark, I would like to say Sorry for your unpleasant experience in our restaurant. I have checked with the staffs who were working on that day about your circumstance as I am away at the moment. I am aware that it was a delay on the food due to the busyness on that day, however, there was no complain... More

Nice relaxed atmosphere, food outstanding. Decor not very appealing and being in the Bigg Market you'd probably want to go earlier to avoid the riots later on! I'd definitely go again purely for the food as it was that good - spiced/seasoned to perfection and good portion sizing at a reasonable price. Although you might not be so keen if... More

It was nice to find another restaurant in toon that offers authentic asian food. We arrived and were promptly seated and given menus. Unfortunately they did not have the beer I asked for from the menu so i was a little disappointed. We then orded starters and again, they didn't have what my girlfriend ordered. The food came and it... More

I've previously described Little Saigon as one of my favourite restaurants in Newcastle so I'm disappointed to give it a poor review from my most recent visit. A group of us visited last weekend and were surprised to find the place nearly empty, though reading the most recent reviews it's perhaps not surprising. As there were 9 of us an... More

My first impression of the restaurant was very good...the interior is well decorated and the welcome very friendly. The staff were very good with my 6-year old son, providing him with food recommendations and child-friendly chop sticks. Being unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, we decided to go with the recommendation of the waiter and try the Konkol Beef, which is included... More

I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past and the vegetarian curry was delicious and unlike one I'd tasted anywhere else. I returned yesterday and was disappointed to find that the recipe has changed since my last visit. It now resembles a curry from a Chinese take-away, which is a great shame.
