We went in on a Wednesday evening, it was fairly quiet that night. We had the fixed price menu, I ate the smoked salmon with pickled cucumber for starter. It was probably one of the best starters I have had, the salmon was cooked to a perfection and the pickled cucumber was just right not too sour and not too... More

very disappointing, the food was average and bland and overpriced. The restaurant had little atmosphere. They also annoyingly made you wait in the bar area for a table despite the restaurant being completely empty- obviously to get you to buy more drinks. They also put automatic service charge of 10% on our bill, whilst this is acceptable for a large... More

Having dined at The Cherry Tree several times before, I fear that I had begun to take for granted the exceptional levels of service given by all staff at all levels. However, the service received on my last visit was exceptionally good. Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately greeted by the manageress (a lovely lady called Monika(?)) who immediately... We chose to go for the set menu, 3 courses for £15.50. The goats cheese beet root and hazelnut salad to start was wonderful. The rump steak main was cooked to perfection, the steak was thick and good quality. Sticky toffee pudding to finish. I still can't quite believe how good it was and for such a reasonable price.

Went for a birthday meal. We arrived slightly late & were kept waiting in the bar for a while which was the only downside to the match. We opted for the menu of the week, which represents fantastic value for money when compared to the main menu. The service was generally efficient & friendly. It was a lovely place to... More

My wife and I visited the Cherry Tree at 12 noon on a quiet Thursday lunchtime. We had made a reservation and upon arrival were promptly shown to our table. We were seated at a romantic table for two where olives, warm bread and butter were brought to the table along with the menu. We chose the 2 course option... More
