Warm cosy city pub

For a pub in town, it is really warm and cosy. Full of charm. Great selection of spirits. Massive selection of gin. Beer was well kept and a good range. The massive issue is the toilet. You leave the cosy warm and clean pub to enter a cold, physically damp and mouldy toilet. They stink and... read more

A combined Burns Night Event. Whisky tasting hosted by The Whisky Shop Guildford and namely Jack Mankin who had everyone spellbound with his stories ! Some top class whiskies were tasted after a sumptuous home cooked ( traditionally Scottish) meal prepared by Jane. A big thank you to all the guests, Jane and Bryan our hosts and everyone who participated... More

We have spent several happy evenings in The Keep. A cosy welcoming atmosphere from a Family run Pub. Toilets are a little dated and in need of attention, but there have been several improvements made elsewhere.

Visited the Keep with a group of colleagues prior to Christmas. Sadly the price reflected the quality of the food, living up to expectations. Overcooked frozen veg, shop bought soggy Yorkshire puddings, shop bought cheesecake. Opted for strawberries and cream for pudding and had an under-generous portion of 4 strawberries. The bar food may be better but this meal was... More

An incredible event, whisky tasting hosted by The Whisky Shop and Mark Thomson Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich. Cosy and intimate, a sell out and loads of delicious whiskies. Big thank you to our hosts who made us feel so welcome, this pub rocks !

I can't help but notice that a great deal of The Keep's poorer reviews are around it's food offer. I'm sure that the tenants won't thank me for saying this, but why would you eat there?! It's a (very good) boozer! We've always enjoyed The Keep. It's cosy with a lovely covered courtyard, a good selection of beers and friendly... More

We came to a gig here by Aioffe O'Donovan, which was excellent. It's tiny slightly bigger than our living room at home) so it was a terrific venue for an acoustic set but... Standing up in unsuitable shoes for the whole thing isn't my favourite way to attend a gig. If I'd known I would've brought a picnic chair... Great... More

Came here for drinks on Friday night - really nice pub with a nice atmosphere. Inside and outside are nice. Being forgetful and tipsy I left my phone in the pub. The next day I called it and it was off but later on it was back on again so I assume they charged it up which was the biggest... More

The Whisky Shop Guildford held a tasting event at The Keep last night and was supported by 20 Whisky Shop customers and "W" Club members. The host was the ever popular Phil Huckle, Brand Ambassador for Pernod Ricard. The whiskies being tasted were Ballantine's Finest, Ballantine's 17yo and Ballantine's 17yo Scapa Limited Edition, followed by Aberlour Abunadh, The Glenlivet 16yo... More

We are regular to this pub, as the Landlady is friendly and keeps a clean and tidy pub, offering a fab selection of gin and ale ...well worth a visit! There is an outside space with patio heaters and blankets (for our inclement weather!) They offer good food and have entertainment events scheduled in the diary ...go visit!!
