Picture perfect, great garden for the summer months and have been here several times over the years, never a disappointment with any menu choices whether full on dining or a lighter bite, service has always been good and a nice atmosphere inside or out.

We took my daughter for her birthday, just wanted a bar meal as I was giving her a buffet in the evening. We were given a dinner menu and when we asked what did they do for lunch time the waitress said it is on there. Another waiter appeared and when we asked him he said sandwiches which was untrue... "Duck or Grouse", says the sign above the door as you enter the restaurant from the bar, and they are not talking about the menu! This 16th C. pub has VERY low ceilings, exposed beams, open fireplaces, and a great country pub atmosphere with the same family in charge for over forty years. The address says Guildford, but it is... More

Loved the tea, outside in the garden! Underneath a floral archway of flowers tucked away In a little nook. They served tea in fine china cups and I was met by a couple of friendly Ghosts when I went to the bar! Charming and smiling staff the atmosphere very old worlde My type of place. Did not eat here, but... More

Lovely food. But they have a menu discrimination in place. If you are ordering from their posh menus you can sit on their posh tables. Bar menu you are relegated to the no cloth on table section. Pretty amusing really. !!!! Food was excellent , service hit and miss depending which menus you used. Lovely garden setting on a lovely... More

If you are looking for a lovely restaurant to eat outside on a beautiful day, don't look any further. The gardens have plenty of seating with small trellised booths along the edge of the garden, covered in vines. The service is impeccable. The waiters are all charming and attentive and the food is very good. Its not the cheapest place... More

Although only had drinks found it very expensive, beautiful surrounding garden, lovely leafy outside eating area. Lots of free parking, It was a beautiful afternoon around 4.30pm and a member of staff started to collect the seating cushions from outside, we asked if the the pub was closing and were told they were closing in half an hour! We felt... More

Went for the first time this year having been many times over the years. You know what you're getting as the menu does not change but it felt very much like an expensive pub dinner. £120 for 1 starter - Prawns PIL PIL with no chillies, mains were good but £23+ for a beef wellington? All in all a bit... More

Lunch at the Withies is a real treat. Excellent service and food. The Pimms drink is second to none. Would recommend for a special celebratory lunch. Never been disappointed, first visit was back in the 1980's and it is still just as good

We arrived on a lovely sunny day and thought the garden was charming, we were seated at one of their charming leafy tables. And eventually the food arrived, it was dreadful, over cooked scallops for me, over cooked duck for my husband, we did not even bother to finish it! And to add insult to injury a £10.00 service charge automatically... More
