Arrived without booking midweek at noon. Bar lady very friendly, we chose to sit outside and paid up front. We both had burgers (mine steak/chillie, hers lamb/rosemary etc) arrived in about quarter hour/20 minutes. Absolutely delish, perfectly cooked and filled me up just right.

Langton's is a gem of a gastro pub. The food is plenty full and reasonably priced. It is a bit of a task to find (be careful not to miss the wooden sign before the pond!) but it is worth it. On the downside you will need a designated driver as it is a bit out of the way. But... More

Fantastic location and immaculately kept pub/restaurant. Food was first class and very reasonably priced for Surrey. Fresh home made food to a very high standard and very tasty. Along with the Running Horses in Mickleham well above the peer group (which is very good on average) of pub/restaurants in the district.

This lunch time visit with a group of 7 friends was mid week and booked. The greeting, such as it was, left much to be desired. Two good ales on offer. - Fullers and Doombar. The food had to be ordered at the bar and was reasonably priced, but took a very long time arriving although the pub was not... More

This pub is set in an amazing woodland landscape right next to a small lake - absolutely idylic location and matched by great building architecture. We had an evening meal; the service was exceptionally friendly and the food good. Well worth visiting for the ambience and location.

A group of us were sketching and painting near the Stephan Langton and went in just before closing time (3pm) for hot drinks. Our organiser had told someone in advance that we would be coming. The welcome was shockingly bad and we were initially told that the urn was empty, there was no hot chocolate and the coffee machine had... More

Good varied interesting menu in a lovely quiet rural setting, down a small road few miles south of the main Guildford-Dorking road, but easily accessible by car. Good to visit on a sunny day for lunch in particular. Good service.

Disappointing lunch today, soggy and greasy fish and chips after poor customer service at the bar. Was ignored for 5 minutes while locals were served. Crowd of walkers ruined the peace and quiet.

Sat down to a mid-week lunch at the Stephan Langton after an hour's hike on the surrounding public footpaths through the Surrey Hills. My wife proclaimed the Fish and Chips to be the best she had ever tasted, and my grilled sole with new potatoes and salad was done to perfection as well. Service was friendly and the food came... We stumbled on this lovely old world pub down a single track road by a lovely lake, just wonderful and looked full of character, however, once inside the atmosphere was cold, the welcome was, well non existent verging on hostile with cold looks from the staff. We wanted food and was told that they had run out of the popular... More
