Good day out in the country

We took 22 people to the Stephan Langton for a special birthday gathering. After walking in huge pouring rain it was wonderful to get to the pub. They handled our large number well though disappointingly didn't have the lamb pre-ordered by some of our guests. That apart the food we had was very... read more

It was a dark, wet walk down from the car park. Arriving, the inside felt a lot more modern than I was expecting. The chef dealt unusually well with my wife's allergies. Good food, good beer.

We have been here quite a few times now and it's become the place we like to bring friends to because we get great food and very friendly service not to mention the incredible setting. We had been a couple of times before the management changed in the middle of last year but since then it's got better every time... More

We visited the Stephan Langton on Saturday night for a birthday meal. What a lovely pub. The service, location and food were absolutely fantastic. The landlady and her staff were so helpful and made the evening a really special one for us. The food is exceptionally good and we hope to make a return visit to sample the Sunday roast... More

I organised a Sunday Lunch for my wife's birthday at The Stephen Langton after taking our friends for a walk up to Leith Hill (a 40 min walk from Friday Street Car Park). We arrived with our group and were welcomed and looked after from the moment we entered. We had a large group (which changed in numbers as per... More

Had a table booked in the bar area for Sunday lunch because we were taking our spaniel with us. A last minute table shuffle saw us sat next to Teazle (the pub dog) by the wood burner. Really cosy. Ordered lunch 3 x Sunday roast - absolutely fantastic, the roast beef was nicely done rare/medium and like mini steaks! We... More

Thank you to the wonderful owners and really helpful staff at the Stephen Langton who helped me enjoy my birthday lunch on sunday. Despite our numbers increasing unexpectedly from 14 to 18 we all had a delicious late lunch and everyone's needs were catered for and met! Loved the apricot bread and butter pudding and that parsnip soup is divine!... More

I've been meaning to have Sunday lunch here for a while since it changed hands to effectively Tillingborne Brewery, so when the opportunity arose, I brought some friends along one very rainy day. The pub is set in a beautiful remote rural surrounding and is most welcoming. We sat in the restaurant. 4 of the brewery's beers were on, all... More
