Relaxed and friendly service for a Sunday lunch

4 of us went for Sunday lunch. The staff were all very friendly and the manager made space for us to eat in the bar as we had our dog with us and it was raining outside. We were pleased as the atmosphere in the bar is very jolly with lovely old wooden tables, a fire and a nice bar,... read more

The main thing about this place is where it is. It's a hidden little treasure on the edge of this lake which is absolutely beautiful. The pub itself is okay with average food and an excellent wine list.

I've dropped in here occasionally, mainly for drinks and a few times to eat, while out walking. The food is fine, but at Surrey prices. They used to serve well-kept Westons Old Rosie cider, but on my last visit I found that it had disappeared and the nearest remaining drink on offer was bottled Hazy Hog, which is not bad... More

Headline: Our food (the correct food) arrived in a reasonable time and was very nice but there were only two of us. The service was completely disorganised they really did not have a clue. Keep an eye on what you order, the staff don’t (or can’t) and be prepared for them to get it wrong, did not happen to our... More

This used to be a fantastic pub. Set in beautiful Surrey countryside, it used to serve amazing food, especially fish and chips. We went today, booked a table for 2.30. No roasts left, only some unknown dishes...and no fish and chips. The waiter said they changed the menu and they don't do it anymore. Anyway...we had to go to the... More

Lovely food in this out of the way pub. Booking advised as it's small, but worth the visit as its in the middle of nowhere! Nice wine list.

Nice little pub in the heart of Friday street a small village hamlet between Guildford and Dorking. The pub is good, very welcoming with good but pricey food and great selection of drinks. Friday street itself lies down a heavily wooded valley and is a cluster of cottages/houses by a pond, very isolated you could easily feel like your in... More

Lovely place to visit..love the pub arrangements..ordered prawn nd crayfish rissotto- ( old menu) was the best risotto i ever tasted ! Went again to grt same taste - was disappointed as menu was changed...however the chef was most accomodating and offered to make me seafood risotto with fish nd crab..The ate understaffed most of times - which delays service... It was out third or fourth visit to this remote pub for walkers and dog lovers in the deepest countryside off the A25 in Surrey. The previous visits had been a success, the food was very good and the atmosphere convivial. This time it was freezing cold inside, empty, dark and we even thought it was closed. After we sat... We went for a long walk and bam! We found this lovely Inn. We decided to go in to have something hot to drink and surprise, surprise, what a lovely smell of wood and food came through my nose. Good atmosphere, nice drinks and by the look of the dishes that the guest were having (big portions and nice presentation),... More
