A good selection on the menu interesting dishes. Well worth a visit. A good selection of drinks too a bit on the Expensive side for wines by the glass.

We have holidayed in Woodbridge over the past decade and always looked forward to meals in the Anchor. The menu (displayed on a large blackboard) changed regularly and offered a good selection of delicious meals: with a difference. Sadly, on our latest visit over recent weeks it is clear that the level of cuisine is no longer as adventurous or... More

Dinner for two recently in the anchor. For those new to the area never be put off...it may look like an ordinary boozer but always great atmosphere, good service and good food at reasonable prices.

Maybe it was because it was a Sunday night but the place felt grubby, the menu was not brilliant (2 curries in 5/6 main course choices) and the service was poor - starters (including prawns in shell) were delivered without plates, finger bowls or napkins which had to be requested. The Specials board was not written up in the room... More

Have been to The Anchor several times over the years, but this was not a good night for food. We went to celebrate my birthday and have been pleased with food and service before.

Ate in The Anchor two nights in a row and not disappointed. Service was good and the food very good, the monkfish particularly tasty. Good selection of beers too. Busy pub advisable to book in advance.

We were staying in town and, spotting a sunny outdoor seat outside on a Sunday evening, called in for a drink. That turned into chatting with very friendly local people, which turned into dinner (fantastic lamb shank curry and salmon), then a low-key gig by a folk band. We had a great evening here, the atmosphere was terrific and the... More

Didn't eat here, wish I could have stayed longer, what a great pub, I've been drinking Greene King IPA for 30 years, never tasted a better pint, thanks. Loverly friendly atmosphere, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike.

This should be much higher up the rankings in my opinion. Good location, nice old pub vert good service and the food was excellent. Only slight downer is its very busy and the food coming out was a little slow, but don't let that put you off
