Description: As a family we have been serving Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine at The Royal Bengal restaurant in Woodbridge with chef shahidul alam-malik as head chef since August 1982. Over the years we have explored different ways how we can offer something a little different. In 2005 we went to Goa in India and came across a great chef named Taposh Mondal, working along with chef Shahidul he taught us the how to cook Goan cuisine. We had great response from our Goan dishes and been going strong ever since. In early 2014 we had a total refurbishment of our restaurant as well as bringing in a new menu which included a special Bangladeshi section. We hope you visit us and experience the different types of freshly made Indian and Bangladeshi food for yourself and see why we have been cooking great food and delivering great service for over 30 years.

last visit was for a work get together for the oldies and young ones. Girlie time again. Food is reasonably priced, cooked to order and the waiters are polite.

We booked for lunch as my original restaurant choice only serves food in the evening. My friend had suffered the last time he visited as service was so slow they had to leave before their main course in order to catch the film they had planned to see at the Riverside. I assured him that Trip Advisor reviews were good,... More

Thank you for your review, but we are very disappointed to read the negative review as during your dining experience not once was there any complaints made. We make sure all our guests are well looked after and if any problems occur we make sure it is dealt with swiftly in a professional manner. Poppadoms were ordered and finished as... More

We were first greeted at door by very welcoming staff who continued to be very efficient and polite throughout our evening. The menu has many dishes to choose from and so deciding what to have can take a while. The food was served in good time, piping hot and well presented, and most importantly tasted great! The manager did a... More

I had tried to get in the Anchor with no luck and walked up the road & found the Royal Bengal. It was empty when I went in but I am glad I gambled as the food was very good indeed. Usual spicy popps + dips and a decent mixed grill type starter. Superb side sauce to the starters which... More

Saw this restaurant when turning into Quay Street to go to our hotel. Asked the receptionist in our hotel and was told it is the best Indian restaurant in town. We walked down at about 7:30pm, Friday (28/2/14), and entered the very busy establishment. We had made no booking but were made most welcome, seated at a table and looked... More

We have been regulars at the Royal Bengal for many years and the food has always been very good but last nights meal was the "best ever". Since the restaurant refit they have stepped up to the next level "wow" Great meal & great atmosphere. Steve P of Woodbridge.

My girlfriend and I visited the Royal Bengal in Woodbridge for dinner recently and I can say I had one of the best Indian meals ever! The food was fantastic, both starters and mains (my Chicken Makhni was just delicious and the tikka salmon my girlfriend had was a great discovery). We shared a dessert as we were pretty full... Love this place! Great customer service and some of the best dishes you'll ever eat. Even took my wife here for Valentines this year, went down a treat :0) The refurbishment looks clean and fresh and now the restaurant reflects the quality of the service on offer. Highly Recommend this place.

We insisted the royal Bengal on a recommendation for my daughters birthday and as we heard they had recently had a refurb we thought we would try it for the first time. We found the whole place very welcoming, warm and friendly. We tend to go for the same food every time we have an Indian but the staff recommended... More
