Description: Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning...
Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning refurbishment and menu overhaul. The walls are adorned with carefully selected pieces of art mostly conducive of still life which bring the artistic decor into being. The vibrant colour scheme of rich raspberry and subtle lime combined with the amazing food, make for a charismatic ambience, especially during the evening when the lights are dimmed and the lanterns are glowing. This intimate restaurant is perfectly suited for long, leisurely chats over a bottle of choice Sauvignon or other pickings from the vineyards of France, Italy and the New World. The expertly selected wine list is enhanced by the eclectic menus and delectable selection of dishes. Whether it’s business or pleasure, a light lunch with friends or romantic dinner for two, Squires Restaurant is a recipe for success. Staff who aim to please, chefs who deliver and management who know how to manage... the ‘proof is in the pudding’, as they say.

We recently had a Sunday lunch here and the overall feeling from the table was hit and miss. The service was really good and the staff were very pleasant. The table all had more positives to say than negatives but as an experience, I found it okay. The room was a little chilly and no form of background music meant... More

We had the pleasure of dining with Squires this evening and had an excellent meal with very attentive staff (particularly Victoria and Vanessa) who looked after all our requirements all evening. Definitely worth a visit, recommend the numerous game options on the menu complemented by a bottle or two of La Poja 2007, beautiful wine!

Very good service but tuna steak smothered in salt and the chips were soggy and limp. Had to return tuna to the kitchen. The chef really needs to pay more attention otherwise the reputation of the restaurant will suffer. Very nice specialty breads

The venison and duck were cooked to perfection. Dinner was served with style in very pleasant surroundings.

The food was one of the best experiences that I had whilst on my last stay in the U.K. Not only was the service impeccable but the wine list was quite impressive. I'm not just talking Chateau Y'quiem and Dom Perignon but also smaller, more obscure houses that I know are equally as good. The prices for the drinks menu... More

My wife and I visited Squires at The Bedford Lodge Hotel for breakfast as non-residents. The welcome, service and food was excellent.

Took dinner here during a recent stay at the hotel. I could not fault anything about the meal or service. Well presented tasty food from a varied menu all served by extremely friendly & helpful staff. I have reviewed the hotel separately but just to confirm both hotel & restaurant compliment each other very well.

How this restaurant gets so well rated is a mystery to me, particularly that it has two AA rosettes. The service was charming but the overambitious menu did not produce success, the best dish was the scallops to start, but the bream was disappointing, supposed with Guinness bacon, of which there was no sign, though the chef came out to... We had dinner here as we were staying at the Bedford Lodge Hotel and it was simply delicious, a bit expensive maybe but you get what you pay.
