How this restaurant gets so well rated is a mystery to me, particularly that it has two AA rosettes. The service was charming but the overambitious menu did not produce success, the best dish was the scallops to start, but the bream was disappointing, supposed with Guinness bacon, of which there was no sign, though the chef came out to... We had dinner here as we were staying at the Bedford Lodge Hotel and it was simply delicious, a bit expensive maybe but you get what you pay.

Excellent service, lovely restaurant, delicious food on the set menu. Staff very helpful, we had a table of 14 then 2 more joined us so they just set extra places and chairs.

Food is great, very flavoursome! Well presented, probably a little pricey to be fair, but DO try it!

Not value for money and a boring menu with cold toast and horrible coffee. Paddocks House and Nancy's provide much better value for money.

The restaurant in this hotel sits behind a very comfortable and reasonably priced bar. Sadly I was driving but £1.50 for a pint of lime and soda was good value for a place as this. Non-alcoholic drinks are often a good test of value for money! The restaurant itself was a little spartan but extremely well set out and clean.... More

We ate twice at Squires when we stayed at Bedford Lodge Hotel and the food was excellent both times . Saturday service was slightly slow as it was pre Valentines day weekend . Good locally sourced food superbly cooked .
