Description: Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning...
Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning refurbishment and menu overhaul. The walls are adorned with carefully selected pieces of art mostly conducive of still life which bring the artistic decor into being. The vibrant colour scheme of rich raspberry and subtle lime combined with the amazing food, make for a charismatic ambience, especially during the evening when the lights are dimmed and the lanterns are glowing. This intimate restaurant is perfectly suited for long, leisurely chats over a bottle of choice Sauvignon or other pickings from the vineyards of France, Italy and the New World. The expertly selected wine list is enhanced by the eclectic menus and delectable selection of dishes. Whether it’s business or pleasure, a light lunch with friends or romantic dinner for two, Squires Restaurant is a recipe for success. Staff who aim to please, chefs who deliver and management who know how to manage... the ‘proof is in the pudding’, as they say.

Day with school friends

This was my second visit with two school friends for coffee and lunch, so obviously we enjoyed the first one! I have also attended a conference for work here. First time visit and have to say very impressed. Some reviews seemed slightly harsh but my experience was one of satisfaction. Bar staff very polite and accommodating nothing was too much trouble. The dining menu looked very appealing and with fresh ideas and beautifully presented. The venison Wellington was thoroughly enjoyable..each course displayed well quickly bought out considering the large... More

We enjoyed the fixed price menu as part of a package booked direct with the hotel, and the food was superb.

Overall very happy with the evening meal and breakfast we had. For starter I had lamb, lentils and apricot, the lamb was out of this world, I didn't really see what the lentils and apricot brought to the dish but it was a nice starter, my girlfriend had a deconstructed goats cheese tart which she enjoyed. For main fillet steak... More

It's simply an excellent restaurant, the best steak I have eaten all year. The service is brilliant and not too intrusive. Definitely worth booking a table even if you aren't staying in the hotel.

My boyfriend arranged for us to dine here for a special occasion. Whilst he wasn't able to 'book' a table, we were able to get in. Although, this meant that he wasn't able to arrange for flowers or extra flourishments to the table for our arrival but there was Christmas crackers on the table next to ours. (hmm?) The service... A really fantastic experience, lovely service and setting. The food was superb, can highly recommend the venison wellington. And the winter wonderland was very well done! Will be back!

Service was really friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The starter and main were tasty though nothing extraordinary, however the desert was really sublime. I had the chocolate and beetroot medley which was both very inventive and extremely yummy! I would definitely return to eat here again.
