Description: Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning...
Squires Restaurant at Bedford Lodge Hotel has undergone a stunning refurbishment and menu overhaul. The walls are adorned with carefully selected pieces of art mostly conducive of still life which bring the artistic decor into being. The vibrant colour scheme of rich raspberry and subtle lime combined with the amazing food, make for a charismatic ambience, especially during the evening when the lights are dimmed and the lanterns are glowing. This intimate restaurant is perfectly suited for long, leisurely chats over a bottle of choice Sauvignon or other pickings from the vineyards of France, Italy and the New World. The expertly selected wine list is enhanced by the eclectic menus and delectable selection of dishes. Whether it’s business or pleasure, a light lunch with friends or romantic dinner for two, Squires Restaurant is a recipe for success. Staff who aim to please, chefs who deliver and management who know how to manage... the ‘proof is in the pudding’, as they say.

Had a lovely anniversary meal here. Service was excellent - attentive and professional. The food was tasty, well presented and a good price. We will definitely be back - a great place for a slightly more upmarket meal with the parents, anniversaries, birthdays, but without the stonking price tag of some other places.

A Monday in August. Our pre dinner gin in the bar was good. We were asked if we wanted to see menus whilst we chatted. We moved through to the restaurant, choosing to order from the very reasonably priced set menu. A tuna appetiser, compliments of the chef, was very tasty, setting us up well for crab starters and pork... More

Fresh, local food, well cooked and presented. Staff very friendly and attentive. Thought the food was a bit fussy but for a special occasion or treat, was a great experience

We celebrated a 50th birthday for our friends and went racing. The food was supperb and there was plenty of choice and very good quaility. My husband said it was the best steak he has had. One of our party was gluten free and there was also plenty of choice for him.

My husband and I had the set menu three course meal which a choice of three items in each course for £28.50 no including coffee. The starter of ham hock terrine was very good. I had the red snapper and my husband had the duck breast, both again good. For dessert my husbands choice of limoncello parfait was better than... More

Here for a girls celebration. The atmosphere and ambience was nice, we ordered wine and when we asked for a re-fill discovered that they had given our bottle to another table, who had of course drunk it. They charged us for a second bottle which, we of course didn't pay for! The starters were just lovely particularly the mullet, sadly... More

i ate here with a group of 8 for a mid week dinner. Service was pleasant and relatively attentive. The food is very expensive for what it is, and it feels from the menu like they are trying to be overly "different" but without the substance to back it up. Portion sizes were hugely variable across the different dishes which... More
